I can see no short term gain in holding this share anymore, sold another 500,000 at 09.12 this am.Might buy back in on news but really can't see any prospect of anything positive, apart from maybe a takeover bid during the next few months.

'I think we have done enough whingeing on the company and the sp what products are left and what future does SEO have it can only get better from here. If you play it right theres still a lot of money to be made in spite all our loses.
'
You may have done enough whingeing, but theres plenty more left in me yet. I want something for my money!
And can you tell me how to 'play it right' please - I haven't a clue. Enlighten us with why you think 'theres still a lot of money to be made' - I'm all ears!

Not a very flattering picture of yourself oblomov!! Your opticiians must have had great difficulty making glasses to fit your distorted cranium. Perhaps they used the dodgy mirror to help desgn them. lol.
But on a more serious note
Like Mad Pad, and I suspect many others, I have dumped my entrie holding last week and since doing so have done more research and have concluded that it is the best thing to have done.
What a weight off my shoulders!!! It has been a most cathartic experience although I have lost tens of thoussands of pounds in this investment. I now hold a Ph.D in investing and will take these lessons into my other investments.
I have seldom been more apoplectic with rage over the (previous) management of the company. I put my hand up and say to those who have known of my previous activities that I and my few colleagues who engaged in the collective research were sucked in and blown out in bubbles. This is particularly difficult to admit to as I am normally a pretty good judge of character and can normally spot BS before seeing the 'whites of their eyes'.
This episode in my investing life adds a whole new dimension and meaning to stories of "Gullibles Travels".
I personally think that a house in the Sahara desert has more chance of being hit by an iceberg than this company has of making any profit before 2009. Better to invest your hard earned in something else in the meantime where you have at least got a chance of making some profit. Unfortunately, those of you who had SEO in ISAs like I did, have lost more because we cannot write the loss off against the profits elsewhere.
The problems started in the HW era and were perpetuated by the following managment unfortunately by gross exaggeration of the commercial possibilities. Exaggeration is the kindest description of what we suffered!!
Having said that, I think the company has more chance of survival now than it did two months ago, because Paul Mines appears to have wiped the slate clean, as damaging as that has been to share price.
The only 'comfort' to be had from this is that the institutions were lied to as much as we private investors were. What worries me is that if the institutions, with all the resources at their disposal can be so gullible (apparently did not conduct sufficient due dilligence before the fund raising last year) what chance is there of PIs ever getting to the truth.
And finally, my own personal impression of T&G is that they are as useless and dangerous as a catflap on a submarine.
Good like to all who sail in this rustbucket. Be ready to send an SOS. You may have to. But I sincerely hope that you won't.

Meanwhile Howard White gets another directors role at AFC Energy.
Here is a bloke who has fucked up Stanelco as a company with over-ambition and bs and he sells up and moves on to new pastures leaving behind a trail of losses for PI's and institutions.
I was lucky enough to be in the packaging industry, recognise the problems developing, research the background and see through the crap and smoke and mirror RNS tactics and bank some dosh but I am extremely angry at what has happened to the company and all those subsequently affected. You could argue that people should have got out earlier but each time the sp dropped SEO convinced institutions or brokers to raise more millions and that hung the carrot that success was just around the corner, they must know something to stump up the cash??? I really think the FSA and the Stock Exchange need to review the misleading announcements made by SEO over the last 2-3 years.

Andysmith,
'I really think the FSA and the Stock Exchange need to review the misleading announcements made by SEO over the last 2-3 years.'
Me too, Andy.
Little chance of getting our money back (those who lost it), but I'd like to see those responsible bought to book.
For example, from this RNS in September
'Company is continuing to
negotiate with the two parties with which it signed letters of intent to
compound Starpol resin for the US market, and contracts are in the process of
being finalised.'
http://production.investis.com/seo/regnews/rnsitem?id=1157695280nRNSH6695I
Signed letters of intent, yet nothing was heard again.
Does anyone know how to go about getting the FSA and SE to look into this, and is anyone interested in trying to do something about it?

yes you can call fsa and they will ask you to put it in writing, and that starts the ball rolling if they agree

I was only ever in SEO briefly at around 15p, and sold within weeks as well, which was well timed given what happened after. I have followed the story though since then, and it is a story that is worth noting for the future, for all the lessons that can be learned.
An interesting point however is, talking of RNS's, and if you read back, as I have done, it appears that the poster "ii" did rip the RNS's of Stanelco to pieces, and in an objective way, however, it appears the posters ripped "ii" to pieces with the normal "deramper" nonsense. One important thing if you make mistakes, is to look back and learn from them, or even if you see others mistakes, look back and try to learn from them too. Learning is the key to wisdom, and unless you make mistakes, you never learn (which proves that those who claim never to make mistakes, are in fact the most stupid people) :)

Papal, agreed. I made 2 mistakes, 1) selling at 21-22p rather than 30p, OK I banked good profit but when sp went to 30p and they they announced just another trial I had my suspicions and 2) When I advised that I had sold and why, not making my points & justifiction more forceful with full list of why in my personal opinion Greenseal and SEO were about to go horribly wrong. I guess after getting slated at first after I'd sold I thought sod it but maybe with reasons based on packaging technology some might have listened more and got out sooner.

Oblomov and others,
As you know I intend to do just that Post 24594 (report to the FSA).
Your extract...from a RNS in September 'Company is continuing to
negotiate with the two parties with which it signed letters of intent to
compound Starpol resin for the US market, and contracts are in the process of
being finalized.' are the sort of examples I will be perusing
It is proving a more herculean task than I thought, but I am determined to complete, said report.
I have had a preliminary skim through many reports released over the last 2 years, and as I am sure you will understand, the main 6 to 10 I am looking for to make the main points are taking some sorting, as I will need to read through them thoroughly.(I should have kept my own notes for reference).
I intend to spend several hours this and next week-end sorting through the dross put out over this period (I may go back 3 years).
So if anyone wants to post details of any relevant news releases, it will assist as no doubt I will have missed some.
So as not to take over this thread I have started another thread..........................INFO REQUIRED FOR REPORT TO FSA re STANELCO.
I understand that there are some posters to this thread who are against such a discussion on here so please use the new thread, so as not to take this thread too much off subject.
Thanks in anticipation.
