Andysmith,
'I really think the FSA and the Stock Exchange need to review the misleading announcements made by SEO over the last 2-3 years.'
Me too, Andy.
Little chance of getting our money back (those who lost it), but I'd like to see those responsible bought to book.
For example, from this RNS in September
'Company is continuing to
negotiate with the two parties with which it signed letters of intent to
compound Starpol resin for the US market, and contracts are in the process of
being finalised.'
http://production.investis.com/seo/regnews/rnsitem?id=1157695280nRNSH6695I
Signed letters of intent, yet nothing was heard again.
Does anyone know how to go about getting the FSA and SE to look into this, and is anyone interested in trying to do something about it?

yes you can call fsa and they will ask you to put it in writing, and that starts the ball rolling if they agree

I was only ever in SEO briefly at around 15p, and sold within weeks as well, which was well timed given what happened after. I have followed the story though since then, and it is a story that is worth noting for the future, for all the lessons that can be learned.
An interesting point however is, talking of RNS's, and if you read back, as I have done, it appears that the poster "ii" did rip the RNS's of Stanelco to pieces, and in an objective way, however, it appears the posters ripped "ii" to pieces with the normal "deramper" nonsense. One important thing if you make mistakes, is to look back and learn from them, or even if you see others mistakes, look back and try to learn from them too. Learning is the key to wisdom, and unless you make mistakes, you never learn (which proves that those who claim never to make mistakes, are in fact the most stupid people) :)

Papal, agreed. I made 2 mistakes, 1) selling at 21-22p rather than 30p, OK I banked good profit but when sp went to 30p and they they announced just another trial I had my suspicions and 2) When I advised that I had sold and why, not making my points & justifiction more forceful with full list of why in my personal opinion Greenseal and SEO were about to go horribly wrong. I guess after getting slated at first after I'd sold I thought sod it but maybe with reasons based on packaging technology some might have listened more and got out sooner.

Oblomov and others,
As you know I intend to do just that Post 24594 (report to the FSA).
Your extract...from a RNS in September 'Company is continuing to
negotiate with the two parties with which it signed letters of intent to
compound Starpol resin for the US market, and contracts are in the process of
being finalized.' are the sort of examples I will be perusing
It is proving a more herculean task than I thought, but I am determined to complete, said report.
I have had a preliminary skim through many reports released over the last 2 years, and as I am sure you will understand, the main 6 to 10 I am looking for to make the main points are taking some sorting, as I will need to read through them thoroughly.(I should have kept my own notes for reference).
I intend to spend several hours this and next week-end sorting through the dross put out over this period (I may go back 3 years).
So if anyone wants to post details of any relevant news releases, it will assist as no doubt I will have missed some.
So as not to take over this thread I have started another thread..........................INFO REQUIRED FOR REPORT TO FSA re STANELCO.
I understand that there are some posters to this thread who are against such a discussion on here so please use the new thread, so as not to take this thread too much off subject.
Thanks in anticipation.

driver's research page should jog your memory.
greekman, the story starts
here . good luck wading through it all. have you thought about getting in touch with shares mag to see if they share the view that pi's have been shafted , as they do like to champion the cause of the small investor?
papalpower, and others, before you start raising ii to deity level, it's worth remembering that the sp was 18p when he started posting. the sp rose to 31p before falling back. it's also worth remembering that when the sp was around 14p, ii did an about turn and recommended seo as a buy all the way up to 20p. when he first started posting he made some good points but his constant reposting, copying and pasting turned him into a pain in the arse.

I still find it hard to believe after browsing that research page and the investegate RNS site that we are all not now very rich. I still half believe the printed word. This looks like it could have been one massive scam and p**stake ever. You have to smile!! Cheers.

Interesting, but I'm sure unplanned (!??) that at the same time SEO announce Greenseal and the MMP's are now non-starters they also announce problems with patent challenges and the need for funds to fight off the challenges.
Lucky in a way Greenseal and the MMP's have been ditched - the saving gives SEO funds to fight off the patent challenges.
I wonder when they knew about the patent challenges - obviously not at the time of the fundraising or they would have told us fthe fundraising was needed to fight the challenges and I'm sure we would all have coughed up the cash just the same(!!??).

Believe rather than wasting our time worrying about SEO we may just as well write all our SEO investments off and if ,and a big if, something unexpectedly is pulled out of the bag then that will be a bonus. Even reporting them to the FSA will not make things any better regardless their findings

Bos
Certainly II and Seq are not gods and could be a pain in the way they delivered (but then the more bullish the pro lobby was, the more pleasure Seq obviously took in debunking)
BUT
the essential point they made that SEO statements were full of caveats, cavils, ifs, buts, cusps and maybes, smoke and mirrors was sound as well as the point that the fundamentals of the company always had been poor.

I e-mailed seo , last week after the sp crash. It was re the 'cusp of commercialisation' ' letters of intent' and PERSECO 'vertical integration' RNS's.
I won't be holding my breath re a reply.
After estate agents and politicians SEO management come a close third as a bunch of deceitful lying................. :-)

I am totally out now as well.
This has been a disaster and with the funds I have left I am hoping to make back the losses by the end of the year which will be nothing short of a miracle.
Nascent means that things are just beginning - this means there will be nothing happening till the early part of next year - and that's a big if!!
I also feel relieved to be out of this mess - believing in something which was just an imaginery story.
A very, very, hard lesson in not believing in even what people close to the business had to say.
When it comes to us private investors we are definately on our own - even the institutions have got this one wrong as they also believed the fairytale.
Good Luck to all of you still in - but if I can take the loss that I have had to, so can you and find something else which actually has a future.
One thing to bear in mind is where your average is - if it is below 2p then you will be OK - if above you will lose money.
All the above as usual in my opinion - but I am gone.

zscrooge, i don't disagree with you. as i said, when ii first started posting he made some very good points, and i said so at the time. unfortunately, his barrage style of posting turned me off. personally, i think seq was one of the few people who got it cock-on. he just played what he saw, i.e. go long when the bulls are in control and go short when the bears have it. he didn't give a toss about seo or what it did. a good lesson to learn, dontcha fink ;)
