Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

more seriously ..... ukip has certainly raised political awareness in this country and i for one will be taking a proper look as to exactly what they are putting on the table - or at least say they are or will and how they will pay for it all
in particular, i'ld like to see exactly what their policy on immigration says

UKIP's policy on anything is not important apart from the extent to which they may take votes from the other parties. Their current success will certainly alter policies of the other main parties. However, because of our voting system, UKIP cannot hope to win an election or even become the oppostion. The main parties are only concerned about the extent to which UKIP will affect their share of the votes.

Any party who design its policy to gain votes is wrong.
They should adapt policies for the good of country. It appears that the voters understand more than the politicians these days. They will not be fooled anymore and Cameron and co. should understand this.

What would make the political scene very interesting is if about 50 or so out of the 100 looney right wing tories, split off to join with UKIP party and take their financial backers with them.
(At the moment, the present tory party consist of three parties barely clinging together trying to save their own skins.)
This would probably get the support of some of the major "newspapers".
(I know the response of apparatchik like Hays will be, "it won't happen", but the SDP splitting off from Labour, changed the political scene at the time, and helped in the reform of both the Liberal and Labour parties with modification of policies.)
(At the time, many said that wouldn't happen. It did, but the outcome was different to what some expected.)
(UKIP may even get a few dissidents from Labour.)
If the above occurred it would demonstrate the polarisation of politics in the UK., allowing sight of various groups real colours.
Hopefully, such a movement as UKIP would be seen for what they are, a vociferous, rabble driven pandering to isolationism and Days of the Raj complexes.

99% of migrants from most countrys pay no taxes in the uk
just cheap labour to under cut the locals
fruit pickers have never paid any taxes but use all the services
well they should not be allowed treatment unless they have insurance which
they do not have if a english person went to any country to work in the eu
they would NOT get any treatment unless they had insurance
FACT NOT FICTION . even when you go on hols the doctor wants the cash before he sees you .
UKIP are going to grow big time and i do get around and find out
lincoln the weekend went to boston they will have a UKIP MP

The SDP had to merge with the Libs as they couldn't survive by themselves. They couldn't make it on their own and they had leaders who had government experience at ministerial level.

Compare UK with German government; Merkel is winning because of her commitment to the country not necessarily to gain votes.
Cameron and Osborn should wake up soon.

We may as well leave the EU. We clearly aren't going to join the Euro in the near future and the last Labour government gave away our veto on important votes. The minimum requirement to stay should be to regain the veto and repeal the Lisbon Treaty that Labour conned is into.
