Hi Alan,
Re your Post 24803. I think it's a fairly good summing up, but as you say things still not clear (if the waters get any muddier, it will solidify).
The mushroom scenario for investors linger on.
Also your comment remember (in a hazy kind of way) about 12 months ago reporting that I had been told that while Asda liked Greenseal, they were far more turned on by Starpol and its possibilities. I also (in a hazy way) remember reading the same somewhere.

Tweenie,
Given the past record I wouldn't buy even half a share in SEO. Problem is, I'm stuck with a holding once worth 110,000 but now worth little over 2000! I'll stay with it because a further loss of a couple of thousand is just a drop in the ocean of what I've already lost, and worth a punt considering the (I think) too low SP and the prospects with this latest news.
But buy further shares? I may be stupid, but not that stupid!

Oblo i would not for one minute say you were stupid, I'm in a similiar, although not as heavy a situation,I too would like to average down but my cautious nature says no, but to bail now is a waste of time, and, who knows we may just yet recieve a return on our investment, I would well guess there are many more PI's in similiar situations. good luck to all SEO holders and cheers.

Oblo,
I feel your pain! My situation is very similar: all in an ISA and was profit made from AHT but would still hurt alot to see it all disappear!

Probably been stupid and bought a few more during the day.
After lying down and thinking about it, restarted my tablets.

Guys,
I wish some of you would stop fantasizing about Sphere/Stanelco. I woke up the other morning and had a "wet dream" over a bag of spuds, now give it a bye please....

Just wondering, a fair few institutions joined our club when things looked good. Are they still as strong or getting rid slowly so as not to be noticed? In for the long haul me, got nothing to loose.

If institutions were selling or buying, they would have to tell, every time they pass a full % so they are still in.

i would'nt put ay faith in the institutions being any more informed with their purchases than the rest of us.
for one they were lied to by the same mis-management team as the rest of us,
more importantly they have'nt been buying in bulk given the sp.
oh and they have'nt lost nearly enough yet , those jammy ^&*^%&%^!!!!!

almost 2 days and no posts. Had'nt posted for a while, read last few pages and am utterly dis heartened that this share is practically dead.
I await the next gut wrenching update from SEO . Hopefully it will put us all out of our misery one way or another.
Oblomov- your pictures are disturbingly amusing/erotic.
just goes to prove how mentally unstable this share has made me.
Good luck to all.
Holding as to sell peanuts is 'nt worth the effort. It's a sad day when your 7 year old has more in her savings account than you do in your portfolio.

A thousand cuts springs to mind!
The agony will be prolonged, which would be true to form! Next RNS will simply be about the final payment for Biotec.
Then we'll have the long drag over summer with nothing happening news-wise untill September.
Go on SEO, make my day!

posted by THE OWL on ADV bb ( from T&G note)
Kathryn4,
you beat me to it ...lol.
No chance of you emailing me a copy of the note is there?
After the RNS, my expectations were for a 4-5m loss, and revenue estimates in the 7m-8m mark - no more. If you look back you'll see my post. Some have been a lot more negative - expecting less than 6m to Dec 2007, in view of the Adept news, Aquasol, and uncertainty surrounding Biotec in the US.
Trouble is no info on the website, T&G do not cover SEO in the way they did (as I confirmed today) which is why their forecasts are way out of date (Oct 05 I think). They are though still the closest to the figures, and this is recent and public as Kathryn has confirmed.
Ok, so the news...
1. Revenues (from that note which Kathryn has seen, but I have not - yet) are expected to be less than 13m previously, but nowehere near my figure of 7-8m. They have 11m.
2. Losses widen to 3m as per RNS. This is much less of a drop than I was expecting given the changes. I had something like 5m...I think likely less than
last year.
3. Be careful of Sphere estimates of Bioplast I was warned. Its in their interests to talk up the tonnage, and just because they can sell a certain amount does not mean Stanelco can!! We must wait for proper estimates is what I was told which should arrive as per RNS when Paul Mines determines, but certainly by end of September when Interims must be produced - so we have a max 3 month wait.
Lack of clarity on Biotec is why they haven't revised the 33m figure they had in for 2008, and are now providing no guidance.
Now either they are playing Biotec down for some reason (and us PI's do need to be a bit circumspect here!), or we really do need to wait. There's no way of knowing, Nevertheless it does seem the demand is there, so it still helps to watch Sphere ...
4. The question I've not had answered is where is this latest revenue coming from? In theory if correct, we should be seeing c4-5m sales at the interims, but their core RF furnaces etc don't account for a lot of this - less than 1m per year so I gather.
On this last point, all I can assume is the 2 Starpol 2000 products are doing ok in Wal-Mart, and the 3rd "...imminent..." (see RNS) has some projections against it which the broker is prepared to include in their figures, so perhaps it is more 'imminent' than we think. I am only guessing here though, and totally wrong. If anyone can shed light on where they think most revenues will come from this year...?
5. Re the NAV calculations, yes we are well below NAV - but we should be careful as to what is included in the NAV calc i.e. what is a physical asset and what is not.
I read yesterday across all the Stanelco range they have something like 340 patents. 60 on Aquasol alone! Can Paul Mines exploit these with the team? we wait to see. He has a better chance than most.
6. As Kathryn says, best to wait till next year for better info- Though September was what I was told i.e. in line with RNS. I'm relatively recently into SEO with an av of .68 so can take a longer view but if time-line is shorter, anyone not prepared to wait may be best to sell.

just for the interest of you guys ..... have just come back from S of France and it was interesting to note that the two supermarkets I ventured into (Champion and Leclerc), make you BUY your (relatively strong) plastic carrier bag at the exit (15 cents) ..... knowing how many of these damn things we accumulate at home, though they do get recycled for cat litter(!), the saving in plastic must be very considerable indeed.
as an aside, the quality and variety of fresh produce even in these small-town supers made one cringe at their UK counterpart ...... the greengrocers in the town(s) and even villages leave almost anything in UK for dead!
