It is good to see a mention of SEO in connection with this but I hope that I am being pessimistic when I look at the RNS that referred to all this being 'nascent': an anagram of that in French is 'cent ans', SPhere is French so would it mean 100 years before profit, or SPhere saying "involve Stanelco?, non, not in a cent ans"?!

hewittalan6 - 02 Jul 2007 15:13 - 24849 of 27111

Snippet from the RNS;

the Stanelco sales and product
pipeline is currently nascent and is expected to be developed over the course of
the next 18 months or so. '

Just for fun, lets change the word nascent to the Oxford English Dictionary definition of the word;

the Stanelco sales and product pipeline is currently
just coming into existence and is expected to be developed over the course of the next 18 months or so. '

Add this to the news from Biotec and its American visitors and there is a faint glimmer of hope.
I read the RNS as stating that sales are just starting and will take 18 months to reach potential, rather than will not start for 18 months...........but I am used to getting it wrong with SEO.

garyble - 02 Jul 2007 16:34 - 24850 of 27111

Bloody stop it NOW!

We've all been on that merry-go-round, or should it be "Big Dipper" for some time now........this is the seed of 1 to 35 per share chit chat.

REAL NEWS OF DEFINITE REVENUE is required!

driver - 02 Jul 2007 16:36 - 24851 of 27111

Al
I agree they must have started, they cant be sitting on their hands for the next 18 months they have been doing that for the last two years.

hewittalan6 - 02 Jul 2007 16:56 - 24852 of 27111

garyble,
Have you no ambition?? I was thinking more on the 70-80 line.......;-)
Seriously, with any other quoted stock, I would take the RNS as being very positive for the next year or so, but this being SEO, nascent could mean any bloody thing!!
As it is SEO, you are of course right, we must wait for hard news that is not open to strange definitions, but I doubt we will get that untill after the event and when the big boys have had their fill at the watering hole.

heard about Macdonalds going green on the radio this morning. discussion about bio diesel being used by their lorries as well as other green initiatives like reduced packaging!

what's happened to wrap100 in respect of this. cant believe they have blown this opportunity as well!

greekman - 03 Jul 2007 09:29 - 24856 of 27111

Yes, and it also shows how powerful the green lobby is, and the fact that some companies are even spending more (McDonald's have stated that running there vehicles on Bio Diesel will not be cost effective) just to look green and environmentally friendly.
As to Stanelco loosing out, par for the course, if they have.

jimward9 - 03 Jul 2007 10:38 - 24857 of 27111

"Biotec" is being visited by a range of celebrities, including the Walmart board of directors "These guys would not travel 1/3 the way round the world to get a freeby carrier bag full of biodegradable golf tees !!!!!

tweenie - 03 Jul 2007 11:57 - 24858 of 27111

Sick of false hopes and sky high expectationa coupled with zero sales.
Will wait and see what end of month brings re BIOTEC output
will it increase /begin production of a large scale as hyped over past few weeks?
as of yet still -JAM TOMORROW.
Refusing to get my hopes up.
though the sp is a bargain- i think i'd have a date with a shallow grave if the missus found out i'd brought anymore of these damned shares.
Filed for LONG term and happy to sit and wait to see whether this company goes BLUE SKY or slips at the last.
the only consolation is that with an sp of .05p there is'nt far to fall. ANYMORE.
:-)

You are a brave man tweenie and hope it pays off for you. (averaging down a dangerous game though)

Iankn73 - 03 Jul 2007 20:54 - 24860 of 27111

Can anyone enlighted me as to how long the Stanelco site has been "under review"? They cant even get the web-site right. If you look at the home site logo in the top left had corner you will find its mis-aligned.

They should be called "Stan Laurel And Co"

I'm still hoping this chronic outfit can produce a positive result for us PI's. why oh why...

greekman - 04 Jul 2007 07:42 - 24861 of 27111

Hi Lankn,

Not sure how long, but well over 12 months.
And presumably they expect potential customers to look at Stanelco as a professionally run company.
It is said that in todays technological world a businesses web site is a window to the world. Stanelco's window has been half shut for far too long.

If only in the past the management had been of the same quality as the products! as I strongly believe that with a professional, management several of the products in the SEO portfolio would have taken off long ago.

A good salesman has a better chance of selling even a mediocre product than a poor salesman has of selling a good product.

In a nutshell, good products, wrong company.

Whilst I was very willing to give the present management time to turn things round, and appreciating some areas need more time, surely details such as the Web Site should have been revamped from it's mickey mouse stage by now.

Pathetic.

archiveman - 04 Jul 2007 08:46 - 24862 of 27111

I agree. Websites provide a really accurate picture of how a company views itself (and where it is going). The Stanelco website is an old-fashioned "brochure" website, not updated regularly, promoting no sense of vision ... which means the PIs are in for a long, uninspiring ride (probably downwards).

greekman - 04 Jul 2007 09:02 - 24863 of 27111

On the product page, the Biodegradable airbags link have had the message being updated for over 18 months.
More recent (several weeks) the Frogwrap link is showing no longer available.
Will this be another 18 months plus.
Also why have the shareholders not been told why re Frogwrap, or have I missed it.

kimoldfield - 04 Jul 2007 09:23 - 24864 of 27111

I think that the website is the most worrying part of this; it quite plainly states "this is a shambolic company, would you want to do business with us?". I cannot understand why they would start to make alterations, which when I saw them gave me hope that they were getting their act together, then halfway through they just abandon it. Maybe they have all gone away, after all, the Water Soluble Embroidery Film part has the word 'depart' emblazoned across it!

oblomov - 04 Jul 2007 09:33 - 24865 of 27111

They're busy spending our 11 million quid - how can you expect them to have time to build a decent website!

greekman - 04 Jul 2007 19:30 - 24866 of 27111

Appreciating that market volume across the board has been low (waiting the interest rate decision tomorrow) but even allowing for this, today must be the lowest volume of Stanelco shares dealt for many a year.
In fact the few buys that came in were on the back of the offer price being lowered.
Looks like punters are sitting on their holdings, just biding time.
Cant see much changing now till firm news either way.
