morning socs.

Socrates - 01 Feb 2003 15:20 - 250 of 23498

Afternoon Jeff, you posted after I had gone out shopping. Hence no response. Made an appointment to have my eyes tested, no charge, so there is an advantage to being over 60 years old.

This_is_me - 01 Feb 2003 16:17 - 251 of 23498

Fed up with hot dogs - anything good here?

Socrates - 01 Feb 2003 16:21 - 252 of 23498

Virtually anything you would like, they have an especially good line in sherry trifle, allegedly.

Kebab and chips - 01 Feb 2003 16:27 - 253 of 23498

Hello TIM glad you could join us.

Hello all....

Socrates - 01 Feb 2003 17:40 - 255 of 23498

How jolly, a quorum! That's quite unusual for a Saturday.

vasey - 01 Feb 2003 17:59 - 256 of 23498

Tim! You made it! What kept you? Hanging round that Hot Dog Van late at night was doing nothing for Priscilla's reputation..... Hope you turned the light out as you left!

Socks: I found Lancslad all alone in the Lodge and suggested he came over here and sampled your hospitality, so please stop cutting your toe nails on the bar.

andycarr - 01 Feb 2003 18:30 - 257 of 23498

Evening all... seems like the Tea Rooms are the place to be...hope you're all having a good weekend... Where's GD?

Think I'll make myself a cuppa in his absence...anyone else 4 a brew?

Socrates - 01 Feb 2003 18:43 - 258 of 23498

vasey
As if I would do such a thing. You know very well it's only your toenails I cut in the bar! Did you get my e-mail?

jeffmack - 01 Feb 2003 18:55 - 259 of 23498

Evening one and all

Welcome Kebab and Chips, interesting choice of name

8 Ball - 01 Feb 2003 21:23 - 260 of 23498

Any toe nail butties left?

vasey - 01 Feb 2003 22:32 - 261 of 23498

Yes, thanks 4ky. I've been busy trying to clean up my computer, emptying all the cookies.....I had to rescue the Moneyam one from the recycle bin, after being a bit enthusiastic! But I did hear on the wireless that Rooster Booster just scraped a win. Well done to our resident tipster!

Kebab and chips - 01 Feb 2003 22:35 - 262 of 23498

it was a difficult decision between egg, fish or kebab, but i think i got it right in the end.

Socrates - 02 Feb 2003 00:12 - 263 of 23498

vasey
Surely you need not have rescued the cookie, next time you logged in you would have received a new one? I delete all my internet temp files and cookies, except for a select few, every day.

This_is_me - 02 Feb 2003 15:48 - 264 of 23498

vasey Me assumed that you were Priscilla with a new hair do and skimpy dress.

Me hasn't been hanging around the hot dog van or clipping me toe nails - been working on Hilary's bad leg!

Kebab and chips - 02 Feb 2003 18:26 - 265 of 23498

I was in Istanbul in the summer. We went to Ciragan Palace Hotel for afternoon tea. The scenery was absolutly beautifull with the hotel facing towards asia
over the Bosporus. We sat outside and was served the most wonderfull Turkish tea.
When its cold dark and dreary here sometimes I wish i was back there again. Hence i have already booked my flight for a long weekend over there over easter

Olddog - 02 Feb 2003 18:41 - 266 of 23498

Kebab,

I've never known GD's tea room to be "cold dark and dreary"

If you would like a change why not go around to the back where you are sure to find some very entertaining gentlemen resting on a park bench that I installed last week

( Bring you own six pack of cider )

Kebab and chips - 02 Feb 2003 18:49 - 267 of 23498

I was not refering to GD's room but was infact talking about the weather.

vasey - 02 Feb 2003 20:26 - 268 of 23498

Could I please ask those who understand computers a really simple question? I've got to back up my data before upgrading from W98SE to XP, so finally worked out how to operate Adaptec Easy CD Creator. I think everything is fine, but when I try to check the CD has copied what I want, I can't bring the information up on screen. I've tried inserting the new CD but it makes a whirring sound - quite usual - after a few seconds, but nothing coes up on screen.

The details in 'My Computer' and 'Windows Explorer' seem to indicate the right stuff is on there and it says there is data on the CD, but it just makes a whirring sound after a few seconds and stops after a few minutes.

Any ideas, guys?
