Thats interesting Skinny because as far as licensing them for use on the pavement and or road is concerned they are a grey area at the moment, very expensive to buy as well.

But as I say good fun off road as a try, agree they do look a bit strange but who cares if they get you there and back, very handy for the pub... especially getting home -):

If I came home from the pub on one of those..... I don't think I'd have a front door left.,.

Thinking of getting a tablet (pc) before any comments, for when away travelling uk. As they seem to have very good battery life and a mini usb port to connect the internet dongle, Would stay with windows for ease of use and around 9-10" screen. Any recommendations for reliability and cost?

skinny - 09 Feb 2015 14:16 - 40 of 638

I don't own a tablet, but my nephew has a Linx 10" tablet running Windows 8.1, which he really likes.

This looks like it :- LINX 10" Tablet - Black, 32 GB

Balerboy,

I've got a Nexus 7. It's very good, and I'm very happy with it, but I'd actually rather it were bigger. The fact that it runs Android rather than Windows certainly isn't a problem, and there's shedloads of apps around that all do Windows-like things.

But, if I were going to go for something bigger, around the 10" you're talking about, I think I'd rather go for a Chromebook in preference to a tablet. I'd prefer to have a proper keyboard to type on.

What is Chromecast, and should you buy one?

Balerboy - 09 Feb 2015 19:28 - 43 of 638

Thanks Skinny and Hilary, all looked at and digested, thanks.,.
