Todays news is going to move the SP somewhat north!

LONDON (AFX) - Exploration and production company Imperial Energy Corp PLC said it has raised its stake in Siberian venture Allianceneftegaz by 39.5 pct to 90.5 pct for 17.825 mln usd in cash and shares.

It said 7.325 mln usd cash is being funded from working capital and the rest through the issue of 1.2 mln new shares at 4.80 stg each to Alexandr Ivanovich Korchik and his partner Liudmila Petrovna Sheshko, the former majority shareholder of Allianceneftegaz. Their joint stake in Imperial will rise to just over 4 pct.

The deal raises Imperial's total expected recoverable reserves by a quarter to 196.5 mln barrels net, and increases the total net present value in the venture to an estimated 525 mln usd with oil at 30 usd a barrel.

THE TIMES TODAY Tempus Column - 1st September 2005

Imperial Energy

RUSSIA, notwithstanding its enormous mineral wealth, does not top the list of investor-friendly countries. Uncertainty over the politics and a lack of regulatory transparency have seen the countrys risk-reward profile head towards the extreme end of the investment spectrum.

This has not deterred astute and riskaccepting investors from making their fortune from the oil, gas, gold and other mineral resources buried in the countrys Siberian outback. Imperial Energy, headed by London-based Peter Levine, is one of those. Since its shares listed on the Alternative Investment Market at 25p in April last year, a mixture of tight shareholder structure and an impressive accumulation of oil and gas assets in Siberia has propelled the company as high as 557p.

The shares have drifted a little lately but gained 25p to 500p yesterday on news that it had increased its stake in Allianceneftgaz by 39.5 per cent to 90.5 per cent.

Allianceneftgaz holds licences over four prospective blocks in the Tomsk region. The blocks lie between producing oil fields run by a downsized Yukos and Sibneft. The latest Allianceneftgaz investment effectively adds 25 per cent to Imperials proven and probable reserves, which now stand at 196.5 million barrels.

The key to any investment in Russia is not finding the oil, but the ability to extract it and repatriate the proceeds to London. Imperial has much to prove but adventurous investors will find much to tickle their fancy in this high-risk investment opportunity. Buy, if you have the nerve.

sambal - 01 Sep 2005 12:58 - 29 of 896

My opinion is this is not high risk as long as you play it straight with the Russians.

niceonecyril - 01 Sep 2005 13:28 - 30 of 896

Also from todays Guardian, house broker ABM AMRO said IEC's net asset
value is 905p. Market gossips believe it is vulnerable to take over?

Good steady rise today, believe there are takeover rumors.

Taken from ADVFN

Sranmal - Not seen it on here - Interesting to know there are takeover rumours

2P reserves are probably the cheapest among any listed oil company

I expect the SP to at least double.

It all bodes well imo.

RNS out today, N/Fest3 well confirms extensive oil column, first production Q1 2006/ 2000boepd year end rising to 20000 boepd end of 2008.
Plenty of action in the coming months, a good med/ long term punt.

Imperial Energy at present drilling in Block 77, Well 138 which was spudded on 18th October, over 5 weeks ago. This is the 2nd well to be drilled in this block,
the 1st took less than the present one.Likelyhood that news could break this week,
also expecting an update on North Festivalnaya 1 from Block 69.
Hoping for a good week as EEN and SEO have started to move.

RNS out this morning, excellent news all round. A chance to get in at a good
price.

niceonecyril - 12 Jan 2006 09:26 - 37 of 896

Up 19p(4.2%) so far today. Think drilling result of 3rd well from block77
not far off, which will leave 1 more to go before"production".
End of 1st quarter is the companies expected start of output,so less than
11 weeks?

niceonecyril - 12 Jan 2006 18:59 - 38 of 896

Feels like talk to yourself thread?
Up 52.5p (11.2) today, over 2.5million traded today. That with no news, seems
somebody knows you know?

niceonecyril - 13 Jan 2006 07:20 - 39 of 896

So the reason for the SP hike is shown in todays RNS,new oil discovery
in Block 69. With indicated commercial flow rates and an addition 22 mboe
to reserves.
Stinks of insider trading?

poo bear - 13 Jan 2006 07:23 - 40 of 896

Looks in the price, that's for sure.

May get a little more out of it but it will drop back imo.

niceonecyril - 13 Jan 2006 08:33 - 41 of 896

Up another 10% this morning, trading 555/565p.

madmonkflin - 13 Jan 2006 09:51 - 42 of 896

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed we're going to see 10k of production this year which should take us up and over 15/share - this and my holiding in gfm have been the only decent risers in my portfolio since last may & I'm still kicking myself for staying in oys.

niceonecyril - 20 Jan 2006 17:24 - 43 of 896

Yersterday's RNS confirmed a successful 3rd Well from Block 77,1 more
appraisal well to complete before production in early spring.
Also from (and what i like) Peter Lavine,
We are very pleased with this drilling result from towards the edge of Snezhnaye
Field, which highlights the potential and the full extent of the field. This with the other Wells at Snezhnaye will enable us to prove up the field reserves and
move some of the 2P catogary reserves into P1 reserves.
Seems a bullish statement to me, which market liked and moved the SP up 50p
at close.

niceonecyril - 22 Jan 2006 19:37 - 44 of 896

I believe tomorrow will be very positive day for IEC, as i stated in my previous post a bullish statement, which the market will have had time to properly
digest.
