ROCK SOLID -ENNSTONE (ENN)

JRM - 01 Dec 2005 14:46

JUST BOUGHT SOME LOOKS A BARGAIN AND THE PROFITS WILL ROAR AHEAD THIS YEAR.

ANY THOUGHTS?

colombo - 22 Feb 2006 15:35 - 25 of 39

The acquisitions seem well selected, a good set of results next month should keep the SP ticking upwards.

Long time no postings here, results were ok, and going good today, up to 49.75, when I bought these the talk was of a bid around 50p, it's nearly there without a bid, so if a bid does arrive it will be further north of 50p, perhaps nearer 60p so here's hoping.

Possibly being pulled up by the rumoured bid for Hanson.

Is it about to go?

Creeping back up again now.

Came back strongly today. Mixed buys and sells. Today's Guardian reporting rumours of a bid approach.

Saintserf - 23 Mar 2006 14:27 - 31 of 39

sold out today. I think it's still a good company though

Madison - 13 Sep 2006 08:12 - 32 of 39

Excellent interims today.

Cheers, Madison

Saw the Co at the Growth Co. Show, -( again this year) - so I've bought some for my ISA - Yes, this is Full List!.......I hadn't realised. Only 20p a while ago - darn!
Sp working itself up although with a small fallback this month.
Comes with a dividend.
IMHO it's a moderately good prospect, with a business that's essential to our built-environment. They also have wildlife at their quarries, so maybe a bonus for anyone so inclined... to see after the agm in May, usually....

hangon - 02 Jul 2008 09:30 - 34 of 39

Credit crunch affecting all markets - and ENN is down to 15p (to Buy)....darn again!. Maybe av. dn. soon. It's not as though the stuff goes off...

EDIT 14 July08
Up25% from a real low - yet no Co news, still maybe keep hands in pockets still awhile.
Anticipate a dividend cut at least....
Harrycat,
Agree with your (post 02July, below),, Yet someone wants to buy some, but these Markets are very unforgiving....

HARRYCAT - 02 Jul 2008 10:12 - 35 of 39

"LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Sellers got the upper hand in Ennstone, 4-3/4 pence down at 16-1/2 pence, after the building products supplier warned it is likely full-year turnover and profitability will be materially below current market expectations.

It expects first-half results to be in line with its expectations but said it is likely both aggregate and value-added product sales volumes in the second half will be significantly below the previous estimate.

Ennstone is reviewing its debt levels and banking covenants but pointed out there are no current breaches of banking covenants, which are tested quarterly."

Not one I would put money in to at the moment, but long term could be worth holding on to, imo.

hangon - 11 Aug 2008 08:18 - 36 of 39

Ah, so! It appears ENN has more assets than it thought - so that means they need more money - eh? Oh well the sp has taken a dive of about20%, even from these recent lows ( I bought at 44p, doh!), and that's that. I'm inclined to wait until there is a Rights Issue/Placing ( PI's never get the opportunity do we?) - and see where the sp goes - sub 10p maybe....oh deary.
+ Harrycat - it looks like they reviewd their Debt and didn't like it!
And ENN looked Rock-solid!

EDIT 15Sept08 - (=the day Leman Bank Burst!) - ENN down 45% (now 10p!!!), - on fears they have to sell part of the US-operation (presumably to get some easy-cash?). Not sure I like the suggestion that "One Party - preferential, etc." Doesn't sound like an "Arm's-length" transaction - will that mean it's sold cheap? Shareholders have seen a destruction of 75% of value...in less than a year!
Arrgh! Yes, I did mention 10p, = double Aargh!

hangon - 19 Sep 2008 12:18 - 37 of 39

Odd that an offer appears in their hour of need.

Where were they when ENN needed extra funding - looks like waffle, or an opportunistic "cut and run"....Grr

EDIT:(30.Oct.08)...Massive falls -currently abt. 4p - and Shares has this as a SELL - it seems, being allied to "Construction" equates to Housebuilding - although they provide Road-grit, rail-balast etc...so not Housebuilding. However, there is an obvious "connection" with the Market in General and it seems many holders have taken fright.

hangon - 20 Nov 2008 14:37 - 38 of 39

Two Down Days!
And today a further 40% - w2ho said "rock solid"
-clearly the Debt is the issue...but 2p?
no, I don't get it.

EDIT (21Nov08), Arrgh - seems discussions - just look at this now.
EDIT(02/12/08), - - - sp 1.1/1.35pence . . . . .
EDIT(15/12/080, sp up 25% - yet Sell are greater...huh. . .. yet no Co -news!
(note:- 2x4.5m Buys (after hours) cost just over 30k - someone knows what?)
EDIT(12Jan09)-sp rises[2.5-3.3p]...= 95% as ENN sells a 2.5m asset for 1.2m cash. The cash won't last long AND I smile when MM's can raise a sp on nothing more than petty-cash (having zero effect on the Debt issue).
I wonder what the Consortium plans AND why ENN didn't participate as a stakeholder - could become an "Eden project" with future earnings - which ENN cannot enjoy.... IMHO, Our assets have been sold cheap!...

hangon - 09 Feb 2009 21:48 - 39 of 39

Oh so it's suspension as Directors have burdened the company. And folks: this is the first year in 20 that the Country needs Grit! ( Snow weather stops Britain)...
-You couldn't write stuff like this!
