D Day/Stanelco,
An analogy
When thousands of small boats went out to rescue the mainly British Army, turning a rout (failure) into what the present now looks at as a success.
With each and ever cash call, thousands of small shareholders have been pushing their boats out, trying to stop Stanelco becoming a failure.
A beach too far perhaps.
Now if 10th Sept turns out to be VE day.

10th Sept. will definately be a VE day for shareholders if SEO pruduces something good, if not, then small boats will drown.

Greekman - confused between Dunkirk (not a success) and D-Day (the beginning of the final phase) - neither a victory in themselves. Not like the old days when a few good men could hide in a wooden horse and sneak up on the market all unsuspecting like, eh?

Hi Stockdog,
Thanks, I stand corrected (now stood in a corner with pointy hat on).
Lets just hope there is not a Trojan in the Stanelco boardroom, passing info onto rivals.

There is very little we shareholders can do, it being fairly obvious that any large holders must have a severe case of blindness - or are already "out".
This business has been a shambles for a long time, with Execs that are able to delude themselves whilst taking fat paycheques.
The most recent change in Exec might have been a turning-point, but I suspect the patient is so very ill only a complete body transplant will do. SEO has very little credibity anywhere, dare I say?
[[Incidently, Dunkirk was a success IMHO - for without it (being successful), D-day would never have happened. It is somewhat surprising the Germans allowed the evacuation; but no doubt there were other distractions. Also it may not have occurred to the Germans that we had the ability to take men off shallow beaches. It was that stroke of "genius" that made a predictably futile attempt into a stonking success.]]

Have been away, does'nt look like I've missed much though. :-(
If seo are breaking even come the interims then i'll be slightly at ease.
Knowing this ship, I think they'll be a few leaks.
so long as it is'nt of titanic proprotions , I think the new management might have a fighting chance to bail us out.
5p by xmas - well you've got to dream.
Be lucky

tweenie, trust you had a good break and i will second that post, this and all other boards are eerily quiet. My only concern is that with the amount of new blood in,SEO will struggle to leave these prices without exceptional news, Anyway good luck to all genuine long term holders. Cheers.

From another bb.
Results are due on the 10th September. Not long.
The figures won't be pretty as layoffs and no doubt massive write downs on greenseal get wrapped up.
The figures only go up to June 30th (now that adjusted accounts are on year end basis).
What I reckon we will hear news on from Mr Mines is the following:
1. Reduced cash burn based on kissing pie in the sky howard white 'greenseal' goodbye.
2. Reduced loss (pro rata) based on jetisen'd loss making adept polymer division
3. Cash pile total as of August 31st
4. News of biotec
5. Update on nascent sales
6. Vision for going forward
7. The all important 'patent' issue / remark last made in June cleared up with a full update.
There's a bit more to come in there but they are the key points.
The patent issue if resolved will see the sp shoot back up to 0.7p regardless of the other numbers. If the rest of it looks like the ship has been steadied and cash is not being frittered away coupled with increased biotec production and potential - then voila, we'll be back at 1.2p range and wonder what all the fuss was about?
It's simple - the fuss (1.2p to 0.45p) was an overreaction and facilitated Mr Mines share option plan very nicely indeed.
When this hits 2p - no-one will be complaining about Mr Mines options being worth several million.
However - the funny thing is that if Mr Mines had not turned up and my pet dog had run the company for the last 12 months - the outcome in the sp would have been the same.
if sales are nascent - what is there to do than simply take the money from Sphere's hard work?
SEO are merely the owner of 50% of biotec which they bought with shareholders money. They may as well have bought a shareholding in Gold. It's commodites!

I take it you're a latecomer to the SEO party, trebletrouble.
Many of us won't be popping the champagne corks till we see 14 or 15p!
'the funny thing is that if Mr Mines had not turned up and my pet dog had run the company for the last 12 months - the outcome in the sp would have been the same.'
If your dog had been running the company instead of Howard White a lot of us here would probably have lost a lot less cash!!!

From another bb:
I am posting again as I believe that anything in this arena will have a dramatic effect on the results.........
In the 2006 fin-stat there was an impairment for GBP 5.5M (Greenseal et al.) within the "Development Costs". However, there was no provision made within "Goodwill".
Considering that Goodwill is GBP 14M (is this mostly Biotec ?) and if so, is it still worth approx GBP 28M ? If not, under IFRS, there may a goodwill revaluation. Any views ? (note that although BIO is sexy, it has lost value in the last six months)
With anymore rationalisation of the SEO portfolio, there will be another "development cost" impact and hence more exceptional items to come.
