Can I have any gold nuggets which are hidden in the captain's locker.

One more for my bottom drawer.
Will I never learn!

kimoldfield - 10 Sep 2007 15:17 - 25063 of 27111

With the record that HMS Stanelco has, the holes will probably be filled with biodegradable plugs, the only ones ever sold!

trebletrouble - 10 Sep 2007 18:47 - 25065 of 27111

As everyone says results pretty much as expected. I was hoping for more positive news re patent challenges. However if we get news that patent challenge is dismissed this will fly. This is a gamble but whatever happens company will be making a profit by next results. I'm holding!

= more jam tomorrow
:-)

No point in selling as shares worthless.
Filed away and a painful lesson learnt.

Biotec's capacity is now '7,500 tonnes per annum'.

Isn't that somewhat less than we believed. Does anyone know if this is a significant amount - doesn't sound a lot to me.

You had to say it Oblo........

blackdown - 11 Sep 2007 20:45 - 25069 of 27111

The most likely outcome with this company is that it will go bust and an another organisation will pick up the pieces from the liquidator for next to nothing.

oblomov - 12 Sep 2007 08:48 - 25070 of 27111

Its unlikely to go bust now. Its original core business is sound (if small) and revenue streams (via Biotec) are increasing. Money isn't now being thrown at Greenseal hand over fist as it was in the past.

It won't go bust, will increase profitability slowly, but isn't likely to deliver what was once promised.

tweenie - 12 Sep 2007 16:17 - 25071 of 27111

Ob........ that's what should have been the closing statement of the Interims.

boldtrader - 12 Sep 2007 19:15 - 25072 of 27111

So,many of us here will most probably have to wait a long long time for a breakeven point or a minimization of loss.Oh well, you win some, lose some.Good luck to all. Cheers.

26th July 2005
Biotec Joint Venture wins 20m annual order from SP Metal S.A. ('SP Metal')

Stanelco, the RF (radio frequency) applications group is pleased to announce that it has received a conditional commitment from SP Metal its Joint Venture ('JV') partner in Biotec for an annual purchase of approximately 10,000 metric tonnes of Biotec's biodegradable pellet worth in excess of 20m per year.

As a result, Stanelco and SP Metal have agreed to increase Biotec's production capacity of biodegradable pellets to 12,000 metric tonnes by an investment programme in new processing equipment valued at 4.5m. Full production is anticipated within six months.

30th August 2005: EGM Statement
Biotec have received a conditional commitment from SP Metal for an annual purchase of approximately 10,000 metric tonnes of Biotec's biodegradable plastic pellet worth in excess of 20m per year.

Stanelco and SP Metal had initially agreed to increase Biotec's production capacity of biodegradable pellets to at least 12,000 metric tonnes within nine months via a joint investment programme of up to 4.5m. However due to further recent improvements in both the production procedures and the ability to process the materials, a capacity of 24,000 tonnes for an investment of 2m is now envisaged within the same period.

16th December 2005: Pre-close update
We are on schedule to substantially increase in 2006 the production capacity of these materials -
including Starpol to 20,000 tonnes by early 2007.

28th February 2006: 2006 Annual Results
A further investment of EU1.5 million was made by each shareholder of Biotec in order to fund expansion of Biotec's research and production facilities..

.The relationship with SPhere is working well. We are on schedule to substantially increase in 2006 the production capacity of these materials - including Starpol - and expect have a capacity of 20,000 tonnes in Germany by early 2007.

November 2006 Prospectus
A further investment of 1.5m was made in Biotec in order to fund expansion of Biotecs research and production facilities.

10th September 2007: 2007 Interims
Biotec has seen considerable change to its operations in the first half with 1.3m investment in new production capacity. Technical commissioning is still to be completed but the effective capacity is now 7,500 tonnes per annum.

garyble - 12 Sep 2007 21:52 - 25074 of 27111

I do hope the recent statement is specific to the 1.3m on the new system and the 1.5m facility is at full capacity!

oblomov - 17 Sep 2007 08:18 - 25075 of 27111

greekman - 19 Sep 2007 09:01 - 25079 of 27111

Trebletrouble,

9 mill shares are not exactly taking off. The increase in sp only looks like a slight pull back from the last few days, with almost all shares on the up due to the market news in general, especially the interest rate news from the USA.

garyble - 19 Sep 2007 10:33 - 25080 of 27111

You're on a hiding to nothing treble. You'd be better off flogging a dead horse!

trebletrouble - 19 Sep 2007 11:41 - 25081 of 27111
