How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Anyone on the football tonight or just watching?

carvalho, gallas, finnan, hamman and carragher - if they get booked they miss the final - ouch!!!

robben left on the bench

I'll be playing tonight. I've arbed the qualify and match odds earlier so will play around with that money during the match.

Fundamentalist - 03 May 2005 19:49 - 2511 of 10502

Liverpool 1-0 up - Cech exceptionaly lucky it wasnt a penalty and sent off!!!

bakko - 03 May 2005 19:53 - 2512 of 10502

Evening Guys,

Just watching tonight.

Did well on tennis today so not keen to give anything back on footy even with Liverpool 1-0 in front.

Harlosh - 03 May 2005 19:55 - 2513 of 10502

Had a small bet on the draw in anticipation of a Chelsea goal just for fun.

Scripophilist - 03 May 2005 20:16 - 2514 of 10502

I've put some money on Chelsea to score. No dis-respect to Liverpool but I'd prefer Chelsea to go through. Arsenal were the best team in Europe last year when they were knocked out by an inferior team and the same could happen again tonight. As a neutral I'd prefer the stronger English team to get through.

Fundamentalist - 03 May 2005 20:16 - 2515 of 10502

Chelsea starting to control possession but have little options going forward - seems long ball to Drogba the only real option - if 0-0 at half time cant see Robben not coming on at the start of the second half

Fundamentalist - 03 May 2005 21:01 - 2516 of 10502

An hour gone and still no Robben!!!

Liverpool need to keep hold of the ball when they get it - could do with Gerrard getting a grip of the game

Scripophilist - 03 May 2005 21:02 - 2517 of 10502

Surely Chelsea will score.

Scripophilist - 03 May 2005 21:08 - 2518 of 10502

What a save! Thought that was in. If Liverpool qualify they would get destroyed by Milan. They just don't look European finalist quality.

Scripophilist - 03 May 2005 21:19 - 2519 of 10502

This match reminds me of when Munich shut out ManU in the final a few years ago.

Fundamentalist - 03 May 2005 21:31 - 2520 of 10502

Scrip

too right - if it stays like this i will not be greening up my Milan to win the tournament

6 added minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scripophilist - 03 May 2005 21:31 - 2521 of 10502

I may get a bonus here. I backed Milan for the CL but didn't expect much movement on the price. I may get some now.

Fundamentalist - 03 May 2005 21:32 - 2522 of 10502

That said Chelsea havent really looked like scoring (cue a goal in injury time)

Scripophilist - 03 May 2005 21:33 - 2523 of 10502

Yet again we could be sending a poorer team into the next round. At this rate an English team may never win the CL. Liverpool will not be able to contain Milan for sure.

Scripophilist - 03 May 2005 21:36 - 2524 of 10502

You idiot Gudjonson!

Scripophilist - 03 May 2005 21:38 - 2525 of 10502

A travesty, Liverpool the second best team in Europe, You are having the biggest laugh in history.

Fundamentalist - 03 May 2005 21:38 - 2526 of 10502

Fair enough scrip but Chelsea made Dudek make one save over 180 minutes so cant really say they deserved to go through

jeffmack - 03 May 2005 21:40 - 2527 of 10502

Robben was rubbish. Something very wrong there

Harlosh - 03 May 2005 21:42 - 2528 of 10502

Chelsea never looked like they were going to score.
