The 2013 full year preliminary results for RSA Insurance Group plc was announced 27 February 2014.

"3 FOR 8 RIGHTS ISSUE AT 56 PENCE PER NEW ORDINARY SHARE
Further to the announcement on 27 February of its preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2013, RSA Insurance Group plc ("RSA" or the “Company”) today announces the launch of a rights issue to raise £773 million in proceeds (£748 million net of expenses) (the “Rights Issue”). The Issue Price of 56 pence per New Ordinary Share represents a discount of approximately 40% to the closing price of 93.4 pence on 24 March 2014 (being the last business day prior to the release of this announcement) and a 32.7% discount to the theoretical ex-rights price based on the closing price on 24 March 2014."

daves dazzlers - 17 Jun 2005 14:13 - 255 of 761

Not just me then opto.

optomistic - 17 Jun 2005 16:08 - 256 of 761

It's in the blue @ 83.50p bid! That must be a surprise to some after this mornings announcment.

optomistic - 17 Jun 2005 16:09 - 257 of 761

Well just for a moment.

paul30661 - 17 Jun 2005 16:17 - 258 of 761

Even if the Regan bid was not ever going to come off, at least it put RSA back on the radar of those with the financial mucle to have a go, or made those that are going to have a go sit up and sharpen their pencils.

Personally not currently a holder of RSA as was waiting for sub 80 again and as it would be an ISA purchase for yield, can't decide whether to ditch Sainsbury, (current ISA stock) in favour of RSA.

Any thoughts on this dilemma gratefully received?

optomistic - 17 Jun 2005 16:22 - 259 of 761

paul, if you are not sure perhaps sell half Sainsbury to invest in RSA? But buying and selling decissions must of course be made by yourself after due consideration and research.
Regards opto

That was my option C - the undecided route!

But thanks

Looks like you need to bail out.

Offer with drawn or worse............

Bloomberg Friday evening.

goal - 18 Jun 2005 00:01 - 262 of 761

Hello SWW, I haven't seen you on this thread before... welcome. I don't think it's going to affect the share price too much or if anything atoll in the long run.regards goal.

optomistic - 18 Jun 2005 11:32 - 263 of 761

35 million shares traded Friday in well balanced trades mostly at 83p+.
I didn't see Bloomberg on Friday and SWW appears to want to keep the content of the program to himself.
I'll go with the market and there was no panic in the trading on Friday. As I have said before I am happy with RSA as a LTH with a good yield, and any serious takeover would be regarded as a bonus.
Don't overlook the Brandes holding, they are not buyers of stock because a small cap stock was making noises about taking over one of England's largest insurance companies, they are there for the value that has yet to re emerge.
My opinion
regards
opto

Looking at the Charts could it be said that things are beginning to look a touch more positive?
25ma moved up through 50ma, MACD in the right sector and RSI just ticking along nicely.
It's been a dull stock for the last three weeks perhaps this month could see it back on the uptrend.

goal - 06 Jul 2005 16:41 - 265 of 761

Mmmm nice + 2% move today.

optomistic - 06 Jul 2005 16:46 - 266 of 761

You just got here before me Goal, yes it's a nice little tick up today. Could be a firm market in the run up to the ints on the 11th Aug.
edit:
Broken through the resistance next step through 88p then away.

optomistic - 08 Jul 2005 10:53 - 267 of 761

Recovering nicely this morning, perhaps we have established a new support level around 83p

optomistic - 08 Jul 2005 19:42 - 268 of 761

Finished up the day quite nicely, I'm happy with that. Look forward to next week.

daves dazzlers - 08 Jul 2005 19:54 - 269 of 761

Steady progress in the right direction. Chart, MACD and RSI all looking good. Wish all of my holdings were looking as positive.
