LW - Petersfield isn't far, in fact my older brother lives in Liss near by, but you're also refering to West Sussex, which I have only visited recently as I was working in Horsham & when I was I child and visted my little brother when he had the misfortune to go to boarding school in Petworth.

I spend a Christmas one Easter holiday in Swaziland (I was going to say is that far from you, but I know that's like an Australian saying the same thing about somewher the UK! I think the Christmas holiday involved a very long drive which I slept through from JS airport to the border......... I think the swazi lack of concept of time took some getting used to.)

little willie - 23 Oct 2003 21:41 - 2511 of 23498

Ah thought so from your postings.
Good Indian tandhoori at Liss just over railway line I think. Have you tried the Thai in P/field, hot & sour soup to die for.

The school at Petworth was prob Burton School, closed, knocked down and now reconstructed as an up market housing estate circa 750k+...bloody crazy but I've a chum who bought one and he's happy there.

Think they did a wonderful job rebuilding P/field especially now the bypass gets rid of all the grockles.
We had a fab 16th century house in Fernhurst, hurt us both when we sold it but
what an investment!
Wonder if you've ever eaten at Jake's place at East Meon..fabulous but think he's moved on.

Swaziland...it's all foreign to me!!

vasey - 23 Oct 2003 22:10 - 2512 of 23498

Back from school......ravenous! Spam!? No, thanks. Might make myself a toasted peanut butter and marmite sandwich......with some......red wine, please Socs! Any chocolate?

Socrates - 23 Oct 2003 22:58 - 2513 of 23498

vasey is here, time to pop my cork.

This_is_me - 23 Oct 2003 23:47 - 2514 of 23498

Just looked at the leekonline web site - average of 2832 hits each day in Sept. and all without dirty pictures in the art page! Maaybe that is why they want jeff - to refresh the site 2832 times every day to keep the numbers up. I think it is called Leek because it is where they dump the pottery if it has a leek and can't be sold.

I'll have the spam with spam please, as long as it is not the RAF quality!

This_is_me - 24 Oct 2003 10:54 - 2515 of 23498

I think I will start the day with a double-decker spam with marmite burger and a mince pie. There was a large stack of mince pies in Safeway yesterday beside the Christmas crackers which have been there for a month.

Greetings All - I see we still have Spam on the menu - where's GD? I miss the doggie being around....Besides I want to know exactly how many more cases of pre-war Spam he has stored away so I can lose it for him!

Had a really annoying morning - loads of phone calls to achieve very little but its Friday and I say is that an open bottle of red over there???
Ahhhh ((((sinking half a glass ))))) someone must have known I'd need a decent glass of quality vino this afternoon....

stockbunny - 24 Oct 2003 15:33 - 2523 of 23498

OK Bunny is off to catch a glimpse of Concorde on her way in to LHR,
((Sob-sob... its So sad!!!))))
may pop in again later..........

vasey - 24 Oct 2003 16:11 - 2524 of 23498

bunny: Concorde flew overhead at 15.58. Even the loutish scaffolders over the road raced up the ladders to get a last look!

jeffmack - 24 Oct 2003 16:28 - 2525 of 23498

Watched two fly across London. Always a fantastic sight

jeffmack - 24 Oct 2003 16:29 - 2526 of 23498

Vasey
They may be loutish scaffolders but I bet you look at their builders bums

vasey - 24 Oct 2003 16:38 - 2527 of 23498

Not my thing, jeff!

I didn't realise there were two Concordes. Thought I heard a second one and put it down to imagination!

jeffmack - 24 Oct 2003 16:41 - 2528 of 23498

Vasey
There was actually three landing at Heathrow 3 minutes apart. Only saw two over London though.

stockbunny - 24 Oct 2003 17:08 - 2529 of 23498
