I knew this would happen. Uploaded the files into one directory but nothing works (I can see the files have arrived at the hosting company and can manage them there). If i look at the domain name all I can see is the place holder that I put there a few days ago.
There must be a way of pointing the domain to the files or something?

Did you upload a file called index.htm or index.html? That is where you will be taken if you type the name of the site.

No it needs to be in the top level directory. I've never heard that it can be called .php but you could be right.
The thing to do is also to check that you can see one or two of the other files. E.g. if you have a mreuro.jpg, go www.eurochops.com/folder/mreuro.jpg and it should come up in your browser.

Thanks Kayak, you are right, the problem has to be with the index file as I can get to all the content with the address method as you outlined.

I have a problem with my Norton antivirsus and firewall on my home computer. A couple of days ago the icons disappeared from my tool bar and both antivirsus and firewalls were disabled. I can't re-enable them, when i click on the enable button nothing happens. Also i cannot get a live update, it keeps being aborted> i have checked with the symantec website for their free antivirsus and threat checks, and they say there are no virsus or threats in my hard drive. At the same time I now cannot log into some websites. I can get on the moneyam site (I am on portable at moment) but once I try to log in it fails. I can however i can log into other sites such as Michael Walters.
Appreciate any help or suggestions, thanks in advance

sutherlh1 - soumds similar to my problem from yesterday. Read from post 2479 for some ideas. I still can't get rid of MENDWARE or access Norton and other sites unless in safe mode. I managed to download and run System Cleanup from Trend-micro, it got rid of lots of viruses and trojans, but not the aforementioned :-((

Good article on Anti-Spyware products at
http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,118362,pg,1,00.asp
"You've almost certainly encountered the ads: A dialog box pops up on your system, bearing the message "Warning! Your computer may be infected with spyware" and suggesting that you scan your computer immediately. Click it, and you often reach a Web site providing a "free spyware scanner" that finds all sorts of malware on your PC--and then offers to sell you software that will clean it all up.
Should you buy these products? Based on our tests, our opinion is no. Following complaints from several PC World readers, we tested seven heavily advertised spyware-removal tools-- MyNetProtector, NoAdware, PAL Spyware Remover, SpyAssault, SpyBlocs, Spyware Stormer, and XoftSpy--and found that none were as effective as reputable free products such as Spybot Search & Destroy. A couple even installed new spyware."

Warning: I used a company called https://www.123-reg.co.uk to host my sites. The appear cheap on the surface but are full of hidden charges. AVOID.

Hi Opt, no will do thanks. Yes can transfer at no cost but little point when you have paid for 12 months hosting in advance, admin costs, one-off set-up costs etc.. or perhaps its still cheaper than having to buy their web building software.
Dil, sorry, battery went, keep an eye on my sites (if they ever work).
Edit - If I move domain names I have to pay the registration fee again (so 8squid for .com)
Kayak, PHP and ASP only work with Linux servers (not MS), not supported by www.123-reg.co.uk. as they run MS. This is turning into a joke.

Ha, why don't they tell you all this before hand!? So not all hosting compnaies are equal and you need to spec them first. I had a good moan at them and their underhand tactics, wanted to speak on the phone but it costs 50p per minute (from UK) ...the story continues....
Hi,
These costs are not hidden at all. We make you aware of this on the hosting details page on our website.
Our SiteBuilder Express program is only 49.99 - the one you are referring to is 149.99 and you will find that this is far superior to any web building package you can find for free.
123-reg supports only the following coding languages:
HTML
SSI (shtml)
CGI/Perl
123-reg hosting does NOT support:
MySQL
MsSQL
PHP
ASP
JSP
.NET
If you require hosting that supports these languages, we recommend our sister hosting company www.webfusion.co.uk. You can order a discounted WebFusion account via your 123-reg control panel.
