A 1million trade is not a big amount of money

tweenie - 20 Nov 2007 07:41 - 25230 of 27111

When theres a 10M to 100M share trade , wake me up.

oblomov - 20 Nov 2007 09:00 - 25231 of 27111

False alarm - even at 10m to 100m I'd rather be left to snooze on!

In the old days of PM1 the following would have caused a stir - but I doubt if Gordon would recognise a biodegradable bag if he found one in his sporran!!

greekman - 20 Nov 2007 09:28 - 25232 of 27111

Oblomov,

Couldn't agree more. Also who believes that if plastic bags are banned (presumably unless they are proven bio-degradable) Stanelco will benefit to any degree.
When SEO first muted the idea, there was little competition mentioned, now almost every day we see other similar products manufactured by others.
If this had been a horse race, there would by now have been a stewards inquiry.
SEO at one stage (according to all the info they put out) appeared to be so far ahead no one else was in contention.
They didn't just stop, they appeared to go backward.

I just hope SEO are not bio-degradable and disappear within about 6 months.

0.33p by xmas
:-)

oblomov - 20 Nov 2007 09:58 - 25234 of 27111

If I knew when I invested in SEO what I know now, I'd have put my money in Northern Rock - safer by far!

aldwickk - 20 Nov 2007 10:31 - 25235 of 27111

but I doubt if Gordon would recognise a biodegradable bag if he found one in his sporran!!

I was thinking of over his head.

SEO have cash for 2 more years and it looks like they could'nt give a rats arse about the sp as long as they've got cash to burn.
80k a year for sitting on your arse- not a bad job

antofelli - 20 Nov 2007 14:18 - 25237 of 27111

They must want the price to go down to hell couse they must have a good reason for that

antofelli - 20 Nov 2007 14:18 - 25238 of 27111

the market cap is ridicolous, ..... with the money they have in the bank they should start buying their oown shares...

hangon - 20 Nov 2007 14:34 - 25239 of 27111

. . .Surely not! A company that has nothing better to do than buy a wasting asset. . . is wasting OUR time!

With all the Gov Noises about Green issues - where are SEO's ruddy trays?
(can I say that?)

Tweeny (today) has it spot on the nail - and we should stop any rewards during free-wheeling years......that's almost the last five, I believe.

Grr.

antofelli - 20 Nov 2007 15:40 - 25240 of 27111

Why not an RNS from the directors saying the share price doesn`t reflect the true value of the Stanelco`s assets. At the end of the day if no statements from the boards are made in that sense it makes to think that the management might expect the price to go further down. If that happen could be because the board is complicit with that strategy. I know that is very hard to proove but if someone is driving the price down could be with a a sort of indirect support from the management. I`ll try to explain myself: knowing that no deals will be done at least until the patents sdispute is over (and we have a date for that) is more than enough to play aruond with the share price (until that date comes). This is a classical example where the management back up the trader`s short term strategy even without knowing or having any links with it . That`s worrying because the board should understand that is important to prevent that someone can take advantage from that situation.

greekman - 20 Nov 2007 15:54 - 25241 of 27111

One of my favorite financial saying is attributed to Peter Lynch (Fidelity Magellan Fund 1977 to 1990). "The simpler the company is the better I like it. When someone says, 'Any idiot could run this joint' that's a plus as far as I'm concerned, because sooner or later any idiot probably is going to be running it".

Strange how when I was thinking about the saying the other day, Stanelco's old management sprung to mind. If they had bought the golden goose, they would probably have killed it to eat just as it squatted down to lay.
Just how did they cock it up so badly.

oblomov - 20 Nov 2007 15:54 - 25242 of 27111

Its a long time since anyone has suggested theres any kind of situation (SEOwise) that could be taken advantage of......its more likely thay've spent the dosh!

tweenie - 20 Nov 2007 16:27 - 25243 of 27111

They have'nt spent all of it just yet.
I bet theres plenty for the bubbly at the next 2 xmas do's and the fire sale promo.
:-)
Shame GORDON BROWN won't bail us out for a few billion.
Bunch of MERchant Bankers.

waveydavey - 21 Nov 2007 09:51 - 25244 of 27111

Tried to logon PM's site as ltholder, where I've been airing my fustrations yesterday. Seems he's banned me.
whats the point of having a discussion forum when there ain't no discussion.
Good look ,still holding and hopeing.
not relying on blind faith.

garyble - 21 Nov 2007 10:19 - 25245 of 27111

How long does it take to strike a deal of any significance???

I know they had to get their house in order first but one year on and nothing of note!

oblomov - 21 Nov 2007 12:06 - 25246 of 27111

waveydovey,

Try again - he hasn't removed your posts. He's answered them with a post starting

'Hi ltholder,

"SEO have had 3-5 years already"
Since when ?????????????
The company was 'reborn' in April, with new direction and new directors, bye-bye 2.1m lossmaking Adept Polymers, bye-bye not needed staff, costs cut to the minimum and preservation of cash in the bank via increased sales being the No.1 priority. '

waveydavey - 21 Nov 2007 12:15 - 25247 of 27111

Unfortunately,Oblomov
He may have replied to them, but I still can't logon to his site.
So i guess he obviously was a tad put out by my negative comments.
Still. I appreciate all the hard work he does re research, but the blind faith is a bit cultish.
Why don't you ask him why i've been locked out?
Then again, maybe better not.
LOL
