THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

All these supposed problems in the Conservative party are very temporary. All parties go through this. The media is just jumping on it. In a few months as the economy grows the picture is going to change.

ahoj - 22 May 2013 11:25 - 25234 of 81564

You will be right if the boys start changing course. They are not spending on infrastructure at all.

hilary - 22 May 2013 11:39 - 25235 of 81564

Actually, they are spending on infrastructure and have been doing so for the past year or two.

The funny thing is that it's only governments who have the balls to look upon spending as an investment. When it comes to normal households.....

aldwickk - 22 May 2013 12:57 - 25236 of 81564

Boris Johnson next PM

ahoj - 22 May 2013 13:03 - 25237 of 81564

He is great. Biking on the streets gave him enough exposure to real life issues. He will not come forward though.

goldfinger - 22 May 2013 13:28 - 25238 of 81564

Hijacked Hays knew he'd fall into the trap.......

Haystack - 22 May 2013 11:15 - 25232 of 25239

gf
That means, by your logic, that Ed Balls is no economist as he did the same degree as Cameron at the same university..........................ends

What Hays doesnt know or hasnt told you about Balls he went on and did this......

Later he attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard, where he was a Kennedy Scholar specialising in Economics.

AND......

Balls was from 1989 to 1990 a teaching fellow in the Department of Economics, Harvard University

AND.......

He joined the Financial Times in 1990 as a lead economic writer

AND......

While he was chief economic adviser to the Treasury...............ends

Hays youve been found out.......... Cameron is no Economist, Balls is and not only that but one of the highest order.

Resign resign Hays........ your posts are not just inaccurate but at time dammed right lies.

Haystack - 22 May 2013 14:40 - 25239 of 81564

Balls is no more an economist than Cameron. Don't forget that Labour had Alan Johnson as shadow Chancellor. He hasn't even got GCSE maths!

goldfinger - 22 May 2013 15:21 - 25240 of 81564

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL ........

cant even take it when their is overwhelming evidence.

You stay in denial Hays just like Cameron, and we all know whats going to happen to him.

And yes Johnson was out of his depth hes admitted that to insiders but even a layman like him was far better than the present part time chancellor, probably the worst we have ever seen at nos 11.

goldfinger - 22 May 2013 15:23 - 25241 of 81564

Ask yourself why does Cameron keep wanting to avoid PMQs............ answer because Milliband beats him up everytime and labours lead increases everytime in the polls.

Haystack - 22 May 2013 15:34 - 25242 of 81564

Cameron does not avoid PMQs unless he is on business. Why would he as he beats Miliband every time as anyone would.

Roselea - 22 May 2013 15:52 - 25243 of 81564

I think it is time for money am to dump the old valve set computor they are using and get a more reliable up to date one.The amount of breakdowns we have are getting more frequent.

hilary - 22 May 2013 16:21 - 25244 of 81564

Twitter fans might like to follow @Boyadee right now.

hilary - 22 May 2013 16:31 - 25245 of 81564

Police have warned social media users against posting piccies of the Woolwich thingie so as not to identify non-uniformed police officers

doodlebug4 - 22 May 2013 16:56 - 25246 of 81564

I don't follow twitter and never will, a massive can of worms out there imo!

hilary - 22 May 2013 17:12 - 25247 of 81564

That's fair enough, doods, each to their own and probably 90% of it is unadulterated crap, but I would say it's very good for live news stories because eye witnesses tweet what they've seen and you get a lot of stories appearing on Twitter before the mainstream press get hold of them. For instance, when the plane crash landed on the Hudson a few years back, there were photos from eye witnesses on Twitter straight away.

I also think it's very useful for traders as a kind of sentiment index because fellow traders will disseminate news releases within seconds and offer an opinion on Twitter as to whether they think that the news is good, bad or ugly. And if you want to know who's controlling a book, I can guarantee you'll find it on Twitter.

cynic - 22 May 2013 17:25 - 25248 of 81564

and how do you know the "news" being disseminated on these sites is accurate? ..... you don't, any more than is some of the tripe posted on MAM

i intend to remain a dinosaur!

Haystack - 22 May 2013 17:29 - 25249 of 81564

You only have to see the nonsense that gf picks up from twitter to see it is the home of crazies and nutty activists who think they are taken seriously apart from their similarly nutty fans,

cynic - 22 May 2013 17:47 - 25250 of 81564

but not here of course ..... on this site, we only have the most select buffoons, idiots, crazies and self-opinionated and self-appointed pedagogues and preachers

hilary - 22 May 2013 17:51 - 25251 of 81564

and how do you know the "news" being disseminated on these sites is accurate? ..... you don't, any more than is some of the tripe posted on MAM

You're possibly missing the point, cyners. The news itself comes from the likes of Reuters, so it should hopefully be accurate. The reaction and opinion of anybody who chooses to disseminate that news doesn't have to be accurate in a sentiment driven market. I'm only interested in what the sentiment is, not whether their view or opinion is right. But to be clear about this, I wouldn't take on board the views of any old Tom, Dick or Harry - it's only worthwhile following hedge fund managers and other respected market professionals and commentators with a sufficiently receptive audience that is capable of driving the market.

You only have to see the nonsense that gf picks up from twitter...

You really think I pay any attention to what Numb Nuts says or thinks? Shame on you!

TANKER - 22 May 2013 19:02 - 25252 of 81564
