I often find all manner of reference to Technical Analysis whilst reading threads, questioning certain elements, asking for advice on indicators and also requesting advice on a stock and whether it's a good time to buy, sell, hold or remain indifferent. I am the first to admit that my own TA is still in its infancy, but I do spend time on expanding my knowledge (hopefully in the right direction!).
Rather than having to ask a TA question on a particular thread, perhaps this thread could be used as a forum for TA queries and become a knowledge base. Just a thought, if there is little or no interest, the thread will sink without trace and that will be the end of that. I will personally add a few snippets to help those with less knowledge (if that's possible) to keep things rolling. There is a danger that the thread will receive countless requests for opinions on a variety of stocks and there is only so much I can do alone, therefore I would more than welcome input from other posters, no matter how rudimentary they believe their own knowledge to be, hopefully some real experts will take the time to contribute.

i did'nt call it cynic you did, I just asked if it was a daytrade..
you were the one saying you dont daytrade lol!!..
cynic, my trades go through a limited company.. no need to be an exile.. and yes I get them wrong.. Im not saying its the holy grail, but with that method days like this are more common than not

Seems a bit of a spat going on here, for what reason I'm not too sure. The whole idea of starting this thread was not to have a session of 'mine is bigger than yours' but to share trading methods based on TA. There is probably an argument for every type of indicator whether it be RSI, MAs or Donchian Channels. All have their uses dependant on the scenario at the time. Forward looking indicators, hmm, if they worked so well, we would all be millionaires, the holy grail of Technical Analysis.

evening PT ..... what a silly girl; tells us all how daytrading is like taking sweets from a child, then tries to have a pop and can't take when it comes back to bite! ..... as it happens have raised trailing stop on Dow to 13325 and could well raise it further before the night is out ..... u and i are pretty much in accord methinks
closed Dow at 13335 = + 77 ..... too good a profit to let it be frittered away by greed

Oh dear ,we've attracted an obnoxious twat, all too common on financial BBs I'm afraid. Must admit your attitude does strike a chord, wondering where I have seen you posting before, albeit under a different alias.
I note you are yet to stick your neck out and provide any evidence of your expertise on any financial instruement. I have done so with some success over the last few weeks, when you wish to be taken seriously, do likewise. Until then you are just another David10B, full of wind, puffed up self importance and no substance.

oh PT, she's ever-so forthcoming as she will not even allow anyone to e-mail her ...... just possibly Dynamite in another mode ..... anyway, D is clearly a serious and very wealthy whizz at day-trading ..... however, i recollect an entertaining but salutary weekly diary in the Sunday Times (i think) about a guy who decided to day-trade as a living but, i am sad to say, found it was not nearly as easy as Dynamix-d'un-certain-age boasts that it is, if we only enough brain

For what its worth I do an awful lot of reading, both on the web and the book variety, there is always room to learn and I have always stated that I am no exception to that rule. But, I have nothing to prove, I am comfortable with my level of knowledge because it does actually work. I'm also brave enough to express an opinion with entry and exit levels on particualr stocks. Are you? I very much doubt it.
Still PMSL :))
