The face of golf has been changing in this country over the last few years, there are not so many private members clubs any more as it was becoming too expensive. More and more people are just paying either five-day memberships, or pay and play, also youngsters and women are becoming more accepted at golf clubs. If you want to play at Wentworth or Sunningdale yes, I agree, it is silly money and if you are a woman and would like to play at Muirfield you are actually not allowed to unless you are invited to play with a male member of the club.

Once went up Crosland Moor local golf course, went for a drink a sat on what I was later told was the captains chair!!!!!!.

Reserved they said that chair ....... I said no chairs reserved so proceeded with my larger.

Big posh knob came over and threatned me that it was his chair, said he would flog my behind if I didnt vacate it immediatly.

Smashed him straight on the chin and flung him against the wall.

Took 6 of them to get me out.

Pals tho were banned.

Now tell me its not a snob sport.

Actually I would prefer my children to take up golf rather than football. If you look at the supposed 'role models' in football then you are really struggling to find any that you would want kids to look up to, whereas in golf at least there is a strong code of conduct and civilised 'role models'.

The point is not to pass, but to have one of the highest scores to gain a King's Scholarship. And once again you are wrong as you are not invited to take the exam. Anyone can apply to take it.
