Blackdown is quite right, I admit I haven't checked this company lately but this stock is dangerously close to the precipice with the possible situation of another
Eurotunnel (at the end the existing shareholders will be left with chickenfeed).
I did own this stock a few years ago and would love to see this company make a
comeback.

Further to my previous post, this stock is starting to sound like the british version of the Alamo (texan-mexican hoobab), or Eurotunnel (Eagles version-Welcome to the Hotel California, you can check in but can never leave), (something like that)
This stock is in trouble and it is baffling that there are so many people still in this.

moneyplus - 29 Dec 2007 16:50 - 25368 of 27111

not worth much to get out unfortunately!!

Tonyrelaxes - 29 Dec 2007 18:50 - 25369 of 27111

The question remains - what has changed in the last 9 months?

Precious little it seems.

New-ish CEO remains remarkably silent since his Strategic Review was presented to the Board on 25 May 2007. Us poor PIs got that 4 days later.

He has seen no reason to advise the market, let alone his employers (that's us folks), of anything at all since then - let alone why the share price has dropped more than 80% SINCE he took charge.

As the Company's year-end is on monday maybe he will issue a pre-close statement. It would be nice to be informed - whatever he has to say.

If this contempt for shareholders continues to be shown by silence there will be much noise at the AGM.

At the last AGM he was sporting a nice suntan. A suit of armour this time?

I fear this company looks like it will be taken over at sometime by another company
but don't hold your breath for a premium to whatever price this stock will sink to.
Turning this around will take some doing, if by any chances they give any inclination that they could achieve this then the price might jump up a little,
that will be the time to sell and get out, if it was me I'd bite the bullet as so to say
and get out now.

Newcomer to the thread suggesting baling out? If us long-term investors were the 'baling out' type, we would have done it a year back.

We're in for the entertainment value now. Or the possibility of a miracle.

Tonyrelaxes - 29 Dec 2007 23:56 - 25372 of 27111

And keeping in touch with others in the same boat.

required field - 30 Dec 2007 12:08 - 25373 of 27111

If I was drunk all the time, I'd feel like joining you just for the fun of it, the trouble is I sober up far too quickly, if an investor is worried about this stock the best thing is to sell, if not then depending on the sort of loss or realising the loss (cgt wise) then perhaps the wait and see game is possibly the best thing but don't go and start kicking yourselves (oh! I wish I had sold, if only) should this stock go belly up.

oblomov - 30 Dec 2007 12:45 - 25374 of 27111

It always amazes me just how many clever people there are in the world. Never make mistakes themselves - always ready to gloat

What are you, 'required field'? A counsellor?

I suggest you read the whole Stanelco book rather than trying to understand it by reading the last page!!

hewittalan6 - 30 Dec 2007 13:01 - 25375 of 27111

People need to understand this is not a thread about investments.
Its a kind of cross between and old pals club and an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
We know SEO are a load of old shite. We don't care anymore!! It's like supporting Leeds United. Our membership fees are paid for life by dint of owning useless stock and we can look back on our personal folly with humour.
There are one or two who are more like veterans of Vietnam, and are likely to go beserk in a shopping centre with an AK47, but for most, it is now about banter and laughing at ourselves. After all, who can really say they never got one wrong and ended up with half a landfill full of useless share certificates?
Happy new year everyone.
And may your hopes and dreams biodegrade less easily this year.
Alan

oblomov - 30 Dec 2007 15:16 - 25376 of 27111

Well said Alan - and 'rf' - you should maybe drink more. Buy some SEO shares - that should do the trick!

boldtrader - 30 Dec 2007 16:11 - 25377 of 27111

I was a womanising, pill taking, raving alcoholic but now I just hold SEO shares for a laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT you never know????????????????????????
what 2008 will bring. Cheers to all.

greekman - 31 Dec 2007 08:23 - 25378 of 27111

My prediction for SEO in 2008 is that they will become the share to make the best profit of all quoted shares. Mind you my predictions for 2007 were Northern Rock to be voted best bank, Labour to be voted best political party to route out corruption, oil end of year price per barrel less than 50$, with peace between all nations, with the summer being the hottest/driest for 100 years.
Oh, yes and ALAN to be sensible (like what I am) on the Talk to Yourself Thread.

required field - 31 Dec 2007 08:30 - 25379 of 27111

Oh what fun on the SEO kamikaze thread!, the worst thing is that just a little bit of good news wood see this stock really jump up.

required field - 31 Dec 2007 08:45 - 25380 of 27111

I must put this bottle down, besides it's far too early.

hewittalan6 - 31 Dec 2007 09:09 - 25381 of 27111

Tried being sensible (aka sober) once, Greek.
Didn't like it one bit.
Remember, reality is an illusion caused by the halucigenic drug sobriety, and I am determined not to get hooked on it.

required field - 31 Dec 2007 09:14 - 25382 of 27111

Here we are high up in our fying machines, (japanese accent), (but sounding more like Allo-Allo), ven vat is zat, seo ships, dive dive dive, attavk, tora tora tora, but what is happening ?; they are shooting at us with their seeweed (seo) guns, qvick, pull the ejectorz-seat and join zem.

oblomov - 31 Dec 2007 09:40 - 25383 of 27111

Up 4% + this morning - are we seeing the beginnings of a bounce-back?

required field - 31 Dec 2007 09:46 - 25384 of 27111

I must apologise, the kamikaze planes were one seater planes.

hewittalan6 - 31 Dec 2007 10:24 - 25385 of 27111

Nah, Oblo.
Just the market buying in to the success of its seasonal range of degradable new years resolutions (a must have for those too busy to make and break their own) based on the outstandingly succesful degradable RNS promises, so much in vougue over the last couple of years.
