Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Hays,
I think you are making a point, but as you do frequently in your zeal, you are missing the point.
Your obvious atheistic stance and “beliefs” and unquestionable scientific reliance on your undoubted intellect, seems to have become a religion for you.
----------
Strange for me some friends who had Phds from Oxford in Maths and Physics and Chemistry still cling to their belief in a god as the reason for their existence.
Quite mystifying to a mere mortal like myself.

What infuses British governments with a mania for thrusting their sticky hands into other people’s messes that are absolutely no responsibility of ours?
Foreign Secretary William Hague spent the Bank Holiday at an EU meeting in Brussels, striving to persuade his European colleagues not to renew their arms embargo against Syria, and instead ship weapons to the anti-Assad rebels.
HAGUE IS A WAR MONGER AND SHOULD BE JAILED FOR IS ACTIONS
KEEP OUT OF SYRIA IT IS NOTHING TO DO WITH US

oh do at least try to stop being such a total idiot, though i guess that's a bit like asking a dog to stop baying at the moon!
i THINK i agree that supplying arms to the syrian rebels is a very dangerous move, but with russia/china(?) already supplying arms to hezbollah who support assad, the choices and decisions are not nearly as clear cut as may seem on first sight

he said that to arm the rebels would be a great danger to the world

Spy on your neighbours, says former MI5 head Stella Rimington
People who suspect their neighbours may be extremists should inform the security services because “the enemy is everywhere”, the former head of MI5 has said.

Come on Cynic.
They could use Syria as a testing zone for recent developments in armaments for Russia and China against the West. (Modern warfare against last week's.)
Besides the armament industry in the UK needs a financial stimulus of some kind or another and what does a 100,000 or Syrians matter?
---------
Is there a question of raising the "fear" level in the UK in some of the recent policies being suggested?
Who gains from increasing the level?
How does the level of "terrorist" actions in Libya, Syria, West Bank and Israel, etc. compare with the UK?
The mortality and morbidity rates and danger levels are obviously higher. Is the fear rate higher and again what are the gains?

Stella Remington is right. People need to be more aware of what is going on around them.
Russia are not just supplying arms to Hezbollah. They are supplying arms direct to Syria. There is a risk that any arms we send will find their way into other conflicts in the region. Had the EU and the US acted earlier then the rebels would not have been infiltrated by extremists. The longer we leave any help, the more likely that any future government will be dominated by religious extremists.

stella Remington is correct but then the police will arrest you for being racist
muslims can speak of murdering brittish people and call to behead them and
the police walk away .
what the hell has happened to the uk
thousands of terrorist walking our streets and they can strike at any time but it does
not affect MPs and alike has they are protected .
it is time to deort any known terrorist or people speaking agaings the uk

Tanker, I am ashamed to say that those who defend Human Right are in fact defending criminals and defend right for criminals.
If we had death penalty, many of these criminals wouldn't do the crime.
Anyway, criminals are going to enjoy life in prison, much better than many jobless in the country. They will have free lawyer, lunch, accommodation, etc, and laugh at every taxpayer in the country.

it's not a uk decision but a collective one through eu and really relates (i think) to whether the current ban on supplying arm to the "rebels" should be extended or abandoned
much as you might wish it, uk is not an insulated entity, and much as you might like to solve each problem one by one, that of course is totally impossible in the real world
