i like this...

Chris Fraser, Managing Director and CEO of Sirius said:

"These results are outstanding. The thickness and grade of the polyhalite seams has exceeded all previous expectations and analysis. While we await the second batch of assay results, what has been received to date indicates much thicker and higher grade material than expected. There have never been grades or thicknesses like this in any polyhalite deposit anywhere in the world, confirming the York Potash Project as one of the world's most significant potash projects.

"The quality of these drill results, if repeated at our next holes, will result in a positive reassessment of a number of project concepts such as scale of production, bulk-mining methods, and processing routes. As a result we are looking for ways to accelerate development of the York Potash Project even faster to fulfil the Company's goal of becoming a major potash producer even sooner."

With a possible double dip recession coming and a very long drawn out process to get the approvals for this excavation, I don't think there is any hurry to get back in. Just my opinion, but I expect this to drift now into the New Year as there is no more news to come for the moment.

I guess the real problem is how to value Sirius. Not a question that we will have answered for awhile, methinks. However, the potential looks to be enormous.

I can only re-iterate my post 251.

wonder how the day will end here especially with news due next week?

skinny - 07 Dec 2011 16:06 - 264 of 976

Looking to breakout (either way) from the pennant?

HARRYCAT - 07 Dec 2011 16:18 - 265 of 976

Any thoughts as to which, skinny? I suppose it depends a bit on which way the market turns after the Eurozone meeting this week?

chessplayer - 07 Dec 2011 16:21 - 266 of 976

Well its up 2, so there is the clue.

skinny - 07 Dec 2011 16:21 - 267 of 976

Not really Harry - I still have the same short term reservations, but pennants can often break spectacularly (RRL) so catching it the right way could prove quite lucrative!

On edit - it wasn't RRL - it was SOLO.

HARRYCAT - 12 Dec 2011 13:52 - 268 of 976

Bit of a deformed pennant now! But holding steady at c28p. Tempted to buy back in on a down day.

skinny - 12 Dec 2011 15:09 - 269 of 976

Yes - I guess a slow drift now until some new news appears.

The only negative that I can see is this :-

Drilling Progress Update

Drilling progress at SM2 (Howlett Hall) has been slowed by a series of fluid loss zones which have been encountered as the hole approached commencement of coring depth. Completion of coring is now expected early in January 2012. The top-hole rig has completed its work at both SM3 (Raikes Lane) down to 669m, and SM4 (Gough) down to 747m and is in the process of moving to SM5 (Waite Lane). Sirius remains in discussions with its drilling contractor about securing a second larger coring rig for the York Potash Project. It is currently expected that this rig could be commissioned and on site around the middle of February 2012. This would significantly increase the rate of drilling and core recovery.
