Vasey
Just walked back in the office with my XDA2.

little woman - 27 Oct 2003 11:44 - 2567 of 23498

Excellent idea vasey

(by the way the investment club agreed to purchase some DYS as a long term investment - the small purchase at this morning - trouble is the account is with Comdirect, so no vote, etc.)

vasey - 27 Oct 2003 12:29 - 2568 of 23498

lw: funnily enough, although they do not forward the Report and Accounts etc, you do not lose your right to vote if you hold shares in a nominee, such as Comdirect. You just have to write to them when there is a corporate action, such as an AGM and ask that they complete the Proxy forms back into the name of the beneficial owner and issue a Letter of Authority, entitling you to vote your shares. You can also ask them for the Accounts etc, but easier to get them from the company.

I hold my DYS in nominee and the broker just wrote a letter saying I was beneficial owner of 'xxx' shares and was entitled to vote at the AGM; which I did. One phone call and the paperwork arrived 24 hours later.

little woman - 27 Oct 2003 12:39 - 2569 of 23498

I'm surprised because when I opened the account I asked if I could could vote etc, and was told no. Perhaps I was wrongly informed - I shall have to investigate.

vasey - 27 Oct 2003 13:18 - 2570 of 23498

They tell you that to cut their administration! A friend of mine has just been through the process with Comdirect and said a phone call sorted out the paperwork and they were brilliant and knew exactly what was required. If it helps, I will put you in touch privately with the shareholder concerned. Funnily enough, Comdirect have been one of the most efficient!

little woman - 27 Oct 2003 14:02 - 2571 of 23498

I'll check out the next time one of the companies is due to have a AGM, and try it out. My e-mail ISP is having problems all day so I can't send or recieve e-mails...........

stockbunny - 27 Oct 2003 14:48 - 2572 of 23498

Any chance of a glass of red wine for the bunny?

Don't stop posting in the ivestors room Little Woman - it would be a poorer

No seriously - I don't know what's occured in these posts, but don't

Little Willie - thanks for expanding my volcab. and introducting a little
'local lingo' now I can insult someone without them knowing by calling them

This_is_me - 27 Oct 2003 15:33 - 2575 of 23498

Get aa broker which offers personal membership of CREST and you will be on the share register. That is one reason I use Stockttrade.

stockbunny - 27 Oct 2003 15:35 - 2576 of 23498

Congrats Zarif you've been Do(ww)ing well again!!!! Sit down and calm your nerves with a cuppa!

jeffmack - 27 Oct 2003 15:35 - 2577 of 23498

Vasey only goes for the free sarnies and an ogle at the Directors. She always cruises the car park first to see who arrives in the most expensive car.

little woman - 27 Oct 2003 15:48 - 2578 of 23498

I'm too tight to pay for personal membership of Crest! Jeffmack, leave Vasey alone, at least she's got taste!

jeffmack - 27 Oct 2003 16:04 - 2579 of 23498

You girlies ganging up on me!

stockbunny - 27 Oct 2003 16:20 - 2580 of 23498

Little Woman - thought I might catch you in here, thanks for reminding me it is Monday and not still Thursday! Guess the change in the clocks on Sunday has mangled my bunny brain!

little woman - 27 Oct 2003 16:20 - 2581 of 23498

- Would we do that!

Just poured a glass of red from the Zurich bank compensation box, which needs to be drunk before mid 2004. I know it's a bit early, but the e-mail problem means I've had to write (8) several letters today, and not a single invoice among them - and now I'm exhausted!

little willie - 27 Oct 2003 16:42 - 2582 of 23498

Evening all, now your clocks have changed we've a 2 hour difference so with the sun well over the yardarm I'll partake of a v.big VAT if you please.
Oi, how come no ice or lemon, I mean, come on!

Re flash cars Jeff, had you down as an XK8 ragtop type of guy and think Vasey might be persuaded by it aka Issadora Duncan, hopefully without the silk scarf.
Then a drive into the country, stick a mug of VC in her hand [after 2 bottles switch to Asti] and then asak to examine her portfolio.
Think marmite legs would be a 'bummer' also Freds Cafe for a spamburger with leek dressing would be a 'nono'.

Let us know how you get on and who is your new Life with the Lions manager?

jeffmack - 27 Oct 2003 16:58 - 2583 of 23498

LW
Denis Wise is caretaker manager, apparantly only wanted to do it for 4 games, which is up next week. They were after Steve Clarridge but dont know how that was progressing. I hope you have your steel toe caps on as the girls are ganging up on me.

little willie - 27 Oct 2003 17:54 - 2584 of 23498

Does four games count as one round? and is it a fifteen rounds fight? lol

I thought he went to Leicester or am I in cloud cuckoo wotsit?
Management certainly went for the right guy to clean up their reputation
and post-match interviews would be an education.

"Now look 'ere guvnor; you give me verbal and you'll get a right good smackin' from Freddy the Fish, you fleet poncers". That sort of prose.

You sort your own mess with the ladies out; me, I love them all and they're
not for turning!!!

little woman - 27 Oct 2003 18:08 - 2585 of 23498

That time of the evening - so Zarif how'd you do today

And LW did you ever sort out your dealing account problems (It's amazing what you remember when you start drinking early in the day!)
