Congrats Zarif you've been Do(ww)ing well again!!!! Sit down and calm your nerves with a cuppa!

jeffmack - 27 Oct 2003 15:35 - 2577 of 23498

Vasey only goes for the free sarnies and an ogle at the Directors. She always cruises the car park first to see who arrives in the most expensive car.

little woman - 27 Oct 2003 15:48 - 2578 of 23498

I'm too tight to pay for personal membership of Crest! Jeffmack, leave Vasey alone, at least she's got taste!

jeffmack - 27 Oct 2003 16:04 - 2579 of 23498

You girlies ganging up on me!

stockbunny - 27 Oct 2003 16:20 - 2580 of 23498

Little Woman - thought I might catch you in here, thanks for reminding me it is Monday and not still Thursday! Guess the change in the clocks on Sunday has mangled my bunny brain!

little woman - 27 Oct 2003 16:20 - 2581 of 23498

- Would we do that!

Just poured a glass of red from the Zurich bank compensation box, which needs to be drunk before mid 2004. I know it's a bit early, but the e-mail problem means I've had to write (8) several letters today, and not a single invoice among them - and now I'm exhausted!

little willie - 27 Oct 2003 16:42 - 2582 of 23498

Evening all, now your clocks have changed we've a 2 hour difference so with the sun well over the yardarm I'll partake of a v.big VAT if you please.
Oi, how come no ice or lemon, I mean, come on!

Re flash cars Jeff, had you down as an XK8 ragtop type of guy and think Vasey might be persuaded by it aka Issadora Duncan, hopefully without the silk scarf.
Then a drive into the country, stick a mug of VC in her hand [after 2 bottles switch to Asti] and then asak to examine her portfolio.
Think marmite legs would be a 'bummer' also Freds Cafe for a spamburger with leek dressing would be a 'nono'.

Let us know how you get on and who is your new Life with the Lions manager?

jeffmack - 27 Oct 2003 16:58 - 2583 of 23498

LW
Denis Wise is caretaker manager, apparantly only wanted to do it for 4 games, which is up next week. They were after Steve Clarridge but dont know how that was progressing. I hope you have your steel toe caps on as the girls are ganging up on me.

little willie - 27 Oct 2003 17:54 - 2584 of 23498

Does four games count as one round? and is it a fifteen rounds fight? lol

I thought he went to Leicester or am I in cloud cuckoo wotsit?
Management certainly went for the right guy to clean up their reputation
and post-match interviews would be an education.

"Now look 'ere guvnor; you give me verbal and you'll get a right good smackin' from Freddy the Fish, you fleet poncers". That sort of prose.

You sort your own mess with the ladies out; me, I love them all and they're
not for turning!!!

little woman - 27 Oct 2003 18:08 - 2585 of 23498

That time of the evening - so Zarif how'd you do today

And LW did you ever sort out your dealing account problems (It's amazing what you remember when you start drinking early in the day!)

hilary - 27 Oct 2003 18:17 - 2586 of 23498

Hello little willie,

Dennis was sacked by Leicester after a minor* fracas with a team-mate (Callum Davidson) about a year ago and went to Millwall. As I recall, his first game for the Lions was against Leicester and he scored. They announced it on the tannoy at the Bridge and the Matthew Harding Stand went wild with delight.

He gets fantastic applause whenever he returns to the Bridge (they still sing about his goal in the CL at the San Siro!).

* Minor for Dennis, anyway. The other chap suffered a broken jaw. :-))

8 Ball - 27 Oct 2003 23:30 - 2587 of 23498

Hello all

Nice to see a busy cafe.

Little Women.. did you have to send Comdirect a lot info on members?
We had one account with them but closed it, just got the Hargreaves one now.
Comdirect also increased their fees, So far Hagreaves have left us alone.

I am on the verge of giving up anyway.
Poor turnout to meetings now we are in profit, not getting much out of the club compared to the work I put in.

I am very shocked you ladies do no Ironing, You all got servants or what?
Who was it in the old ADVFN cafe that had Au pairs ???????????
I remember us checking them out on a web site. Was it you Jeff?

little woman - 28 Oct 2003 08:52 - 2588 of 23498

8 Ball - I cheated/lied. I only told them we had 5 members, so only had to produce for the 5 (Mind you that was a nightmare, because one of them had gone off to Australia for a couple of months)! Our old account was with Barclays, which still has the "dogs" - (17.50 or 1.5%!). As they go into profit we are selling them. The comdirect only has the money for long term investments. The members gave me a trust deed, so I could open an account with Hoodless & Brennan (7 a deal) in my name, and the money I'm allowed to play with (without consulting the members) is there.

In fact the current problem is the bank account. Went into the local Barclays yesterday as we had our AGM and our signatories changed again. Had a battle to get them to take the paperwork - as I didn't bring my passport with me to prove I was who I was. Other ID, bills etc were ignored completely. We have agreed to move our Current account to Abbey National but it takes so long to sort the paperwork out - which should solve the Barclays problem.

I don't Iron either! I sell a range of clothing (so I can get them cheap, and I wear nothing else) made in Canada which don't require any ironing!

little woman - 28 Oct 2003 08:58 - 2589 of 23498

Almost forgot - after my rambling....

I'm sorry to see you are thinking of giving up. I know what you mean about the amount of work, but fortunetely our meetings are more of a social event, so the attendance is about 2/3rds of the membership. All the appointments except mine are rotated, to make the members get envolved, and we have just added a 4th to take the extra work load off the others! Our meetings are pretty lively as most of the members attending try to take part and a couple are taking a greater interest than before. I think having only 6 meetings a year helps too!

zarif - 28 Oct 2003 13:14 - 2590 of 23498

8 Ball,

It was Klutey Klute who employed an Au Pair!

Jeff

little willie - 28 Oct 2003 16:10 - 2592 of 23498

lw..never really sorted the probs out as, to be honest I've been very content to sit back and watch my portfolio rise[stop that, jeffmack].
I'm basically a lazy bugger who has decided that his investing era is reaching its zenith and sorting it all out by swopping nominee etc, paying the premiums etc when basically its my intention to run down said portfolio and sell each and every stock when I think the time is right.

I'm buying brand new propertys with 24 hour security over here and recently decided to also start and run a car hire company on this golf estate, really for the overseas owners who holiday here for parts of the year.

Hils...lol..wisey eh? Leopard and spots comes to mind but understand Blues fans loving him, we've had a few like that at Saints over the years
['Wee Ginger Nut'Strachan having been no angel himself] and my old rugby mob had a few villains..
