Congratulations to those who bought at the absolute bottom and have enjoyed the rise (wish I was one of them ...malheureusement...), but this is Stanelco... you know... Stanelco... the company that promises and never delivers, let's keep some reality here...the only reason for the rise is speculation, if everybody buys then anything will rise even a dud...this is like sheep jumping of a cliff, as for plastic bags...banning them is not going to save the world , if everybody recycled them then would be no problem, instead they dump them in the seas and countryside, so at the moment looks like we are back to the good old days of SEO nonsense rises !

oblomov - 06 Mar 2008 06:27 - 25961 of 27111

But would mere speculation prompt the kind of buys we've seen this week, given SEO's history?

It did once, but 'once bitten....'

The buys have been in big blocks - looks professional, not old ladies raiding the housekeeping.

Tonyrelaxes - 06 Mar 2008 07:09 - 25962 of 27111

The 29 Feb RNS was titled "Speculation re Plastics".

When are we going to get one "Speculation in Share Price".
Surely far more important and currently relevant.

Oblo
"The buys have been in big blocks - looks professional, not old ladies raiding the housekeeping."
That has been puzzling me I must admit, given SEO's history you would think that punters would stay well clear: there could be 3 reasons:- 1. The buyers could be day traders with balls of steel. 2. The buyers could have info we are not privy to. 3. Insanity has taken over!

hewittalan6 - 06 Mar 2008 07:59 - 25965 of 27111

Definitely Insanity.
You know it makes sense.

Tonyrelaxes - 06 Mar 2008 08:03 - 25966 of 27111

Mention in the FT today -

Stanelco , which produces biodegradable plastics made from corn and potato starch, moved above the 1p mark for the first time since May as debate about plastic bag use reignited interest in its technology. But the 36.7 per cent rise to 1.08p, leaves the shares a far cry from their 25p peak in 2005.

BLUE!!!!
I'm Blue!!!!!!!
Break out the wine gums...............

Tonyrelaxes - 06 Mar 2008 08:12 - 25968 of 27111

Well done Alan.
Your reward for keeping the faith.

Only another 100% or so for me.

kimoldfield - 06 Mar 2008 08:13 - 25969 of 27111

Are you sure that it isn't just that your central heating has broken down Alan?

kimoldfield - 06 Mar 2008 08:14 - 25970 of 27111

This could be another crazy day at the asylum.

hewittalan6 - 06 Mar 2008 08:14 - 25971 of 27111

We're well 'ard in Yorkshire Kim,
Central Heatings for soft southerners and shandy drinkers.

Tonyrelaxes - 06 Mar 2008 08:19 - 25972 of 27111

It is like getting a "Get out of Jail Free" card

kimoldfield - 06 Mar 2008 08:23 - 25973 of 27111

Let's hope that it continues Tonyrelaxes, further, let's hope that SEO have a 'monopoly' on bio stuff!

hewittalan6 - 06 Mar 2008 08:24 - 25974 of 27111

TBH Tony, over the last 12 months I doubted I would ever get back to level, even at my low average, and I am still jittery that it will hold, but since I had written it off anyway, I'll stick with it.
How are the rest of the old guard doing?
Has Oily still got any or did he do the wise thing and bail out?

required field - 06 Mar 2008 08:31 - 25975 of 27111

Unbelievable : a five fold increase in such a short time !, not in but hesitant to join the fray !

hewittalan6 - 06 Mar 2008 08:38 - 25976 of 27111

Slightly abstract thought, but last year(ish) the government put through a bit of obscure legislation that companies of a certain size, when making decisions at board level are required to show they paid due consideration to the effects of their decisions on their local environment and "neighbours".
SEO are historically crap at putting their product in front of customers, but could this whacky nanny state piece of legislation have made potential customers come to them?
Cannot remember the detail of the legislation as my outfit were not affected, so I cannot remember the implementation date.

cynic - 06 Mar 2008 08:42 - 25977 of 27111

anyone who is now in profit should seriously consider locking it in, either by outright sale or via a stop loss ..... despite all the sp excitement, where is the meat to warrant it? ..... there is none, of course!

Falcothou - 06 Mar 2008 08:51 - 25978 of 27111

Appears to be at quite a key level of resistance on the chart, it's make or break

nyleve - 06 Mar 2008 08:57 - 25979 of 27111

Hi Alan - still around, like you had written it off, buys from 23p down to .38 so got to wait till 3.80 before getting too excited. At least we are having some excitememt for the first time for yonks, lets hope it lasts. Knew things were looking good - cynics back !!!!!
