ADVFN (AFN)

brianboru - 15 Oct 2003 13:04

Brought some decent results out today but since early morning I haven't been able to get on the site.
Even TCP/IP pings are timing out.

55011 - 11 Aug 2005 10:00 - 26 of 72

After a spell in the doldrums this one has come to life this week. The announcement of All IPO getting (at last) its FSA blessing seems to be providing the push.

ahoj - 11 Aug 2005 10:05 - 27 of 72

If I remember correctly I first bought this at 4.2, didn't sell at 5.5p.

55011 - 11 Aug 2005 10:21 - 28 of 72

ahoj,

May be worth considering averaging down, then. This weeks news shows that AFN now has another revenue stream, as the first "on line" IPO has already been announced.

ActiveTrader - 13 Aug 2005 00:23 - 29 of 72

In todays Telegraph - may be worth a punt Monday

mitzy - 13 Aug 2005 09:58 - 30 of 72

May be worth 10p by Xmas...

richardbees - 15 Aug 2005 09:45 - 31 of 72

I'll be happy with the original canaccord medium term forecast of 9p

ADVFN Japan will run autonomously from Tokyo, it said.

ADVFN said Clem Chambers and Michael Hodges have been appointed to the board of the Japanese company and will represent the interests of ADVFN.

AndyDParker - 06 Sep 2005 12:26 - 34 of 72

yep, same here, just called them but they have no idea how long the site will be down

marksp - 06 Sep 2005 12:30 - 35 of 72

10p by december
I think that is the third site collapse in 4 weeks
Excellent stuff

it looks like FT/Investors Chronic will be opening their new site soon. That will halp AFBN I am sure

BTW...I you have a decent broker getting in to IPOs isn't the problem it is trying to stop them ringing up about them. rest assured anything that is any good will not be spread to the retail boys anyway....insiders as always

can not gain entry to afn cupid or foto web site could it be due to excessive demand?or have they gone bust!

brianboru - 06 Sep 2005 12:44 - 37 of 72

Power failure!

BIZPACK - 06 Sep 2005 12:48 - 38 of 72

Every time they update something the site falls down within a short period of time..New header, more adds and zap, the service goes down.

Since recent updates the site has been unstable.

Navajo - 06 Sep 2005 13:25 - 39 of 72

Personally I can't wait to abandon AFN forever. Immediately after their results will be the most likely time for me.

Mr Magoo - 06 Sep 2005 13:39 - 40 of 72

blimey, still kaput after i think 1 1/2 hours.

Bitter and Twisted - 06 Sep 2005 13:42 - 41 of 72

Perhaps they just need a few pennies for the meter?

richardbees - 06 Sep 2005 13:52 - 42 of 72

- it's back on line

Bitter and Twisted - 06 Sep 2005 13:53 - 43 of 72

Ah - that did the trick

Susanem - 06 Sep 2005 14:49 - 44 of 72

yes but not for long - more than 10p needed!

BIZPACK - 07 Sep 2005 12:18 - 45 of 72

The rumours colud be true as it seems the Market Makers will only sell a small amount of stock on-line and are very short of stock.

Recent MM buy at 1.35p

Possible buyout rumour doing the rounds by Thompson
