Sorry Folks

Please ignore the previous question of mine. It was obviously a time delay problem. Although changes mostly occur almost at the same time in both stockwatch and portfolio for some reason there was a 30 min gap with this one.

Cheers

You have the following views defined:-

View
MyShares
Create new view

Powered by IST's

====================

Thats the page displayed when I hit TERMINAL.
From there I select the view "MyView" and the browser opens a new window.
I don't see any value in having the new window, which may need positioning and/or resizing, compared to just using the existing window.

I tried the STOCKWATCH sub-window.

I selected Group 1 as instructed.
Autorefresh - to make sure it displayed something, as I'm learning.
Autorefresh 90s, as I may have a slow link and don't want to overload it when learning
And Mode stream, to have things updated, I assume.

I also set the watchlist to one of my watchlists.
(It seems I have created a few in the process of trying to get things to work.)

There are two things that stopped it being userfriendly to dumb people like me.

1. I didn't realise watchlist was a menu, rather than the option I needed. SO Initially it was set as its default instead of me haveing a watchlist selected.
Maybe it should default to the user's first watchlist.

2. I was changing things and nothing was happening.
T try to sort it out, I was creating more watchlists and slecting things again in the menu, saving, checking group numbers, etc.
It turned out my problem was simply an OK button which was off-screen due to a scroll bar. I hadn't seen it and never pressed it. This means all my changes were going nowhere.

So there are a few things you could improve, but it seems useable once the interface is learned or set up the way one likes it.

I had a charts subwindow and a trades subwindow. Neither had a group set and both were displaying EPIC ATV, Antonov.
The I set the charts window to Group 1 and it picked up the new EPIC CER all by itself when I hit OK. I changed the trades window to Group 1. But it stayed as ATV until I did something - not sure what, maybe refresh.

Maybe its the timing of the refresh and I got lucky with one and not the other.
I'm just saying this so you have the user freedback. I'm not griping.
This is the best software I've seen for this.
I'm impressed.
When Antonov hit 1.66 and I'm left with 1 per share after tax I'll probably become a paying customer for this.

Until then there is no point in following prices on a minute by minute basis for something I'm unlikely to sell this year!

I would like to thank you for the opportunity to try out this stuff, particularly lev 2. Terminal is clearly a useful tool, so I need to save up my pennies and maybe I can have one in the future. Worst discovery is that lev 2, and stockwatch streaming I have subsequently been told, are firewalled out at my office so even if I could afford these lovely toys, they won't work, bugger!
Thanks anyway

Brain2brain,

Thank you for pointing this out to me, I will forward it onto Felix to see if there are any issues at our end that we need to address.

to ian t at money am........you have a task in reading all the chat comments.
congratulations on your good work.

i have now pressed the help button to reveal the help fields. i the pressed the button for help abbout leval 2.....and there is a useful free article about leval 2

i have extensive investment experiance over many years. i can say that what moneyam has to offer is really excellent. i have been a market eye subscriber for some years at a hefty annual fee. what money am has to offer is vastly superior to market eye.
