Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

Spooky: Think I can shed some light on the Terminal logon problem.
Try this one first - outside of Terminal and using normal IE.
Create 2 shortcuts on your desktop. One to the News and the other to Traders Room (both need logons).
Start first - it brings up logon page. Do not logon.
Start second - ditto.
On first click logon, and now click logon on second.
Result is that original requested pages swap over.

Now apply that concept to Terminal. 2 Terminals started and, for whatever reason, the connection to the MAM Terminal server(s) goes really slow (which is does) and some of the Pane's lose their connection. They automatically try to re-connect but in the process swap over as per the above example. They are then "talking" to the wrong thing and get the Access Denied.

This is exactly what I saw, and even to the extend that the Pane content swapped over.

Refreshing the Pane manually (with Pane button) re-syncs everything.

BrianTrayda,

That makes sense. The page you requested before hitting the login is saved internally by the application servers so it knows where to through you back to.

if you hit two pages, without loggnig in, then the second one will override the first one.

I will forward this onto the developers.

Kayak - 01 Oct 2004 14:17 - 2615 of 7315

PeterG - 01 Oct 2004 14:24 - 2616 of 7315

Did you ever get around to fixing the candle and bar charts? A 1-month chart of AV. looks very strange...

Just for ref. I installed the brand new Sun Java 5 over the weekend. Everything hunky-dory and definately faster.

It's actually "Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0-b64)", but they seem to have re-branded it.

"Sun has made the latest version of Java 2 Standard Edition available, the first new code since 1.4.2 last July and the biggest overhaul since the release of 1.4 over two years ago.

The 'Tiger' release, 5.0, boasts a raft of enhancements to both platform and language. Improvements for programmers include Collections, metadata, and C language features such as enums and variable arguments. It's hard to imagine that Java has reached its tenth year and only just got the equivalent of the C language's va_arg, but there you go.

The platform side has new systems management and profiling APIs and OpenGL support, and a new look and feel, called Ocean. The "native" look and feel has been spruced up to make it look more er, native. Sun claims VM start-up time has been improved too."

Completely unrelated to am, but I'd be grateful for any advice nonetheless.

Does any body know anything about Data Cha0s? Apparently, they hack into and deface web sites. My husband has had his commercial site defaced. Is it safe to simply re-upload the site, or are there wider security issues that he should be aware of?

kernow - 04 Oct 2004 12:04 - 2621 of 7315

Any thoughts on why the CMC Ftse 100 is consistently higher by about 5 points than the MAM streaming chart?

BrianTrayda - 04 Oct 2004 12:08 - 2622 of 7315

Hilary:
Old, but relevant.
Zone-H: Lycos defaced by Data Cha0s
Yesterday, was 5.17 AM, one of many Lycos's sub-domains has been defaced: https://insite.lycos.com

The Brazilian Crew named data Cha0s, has probably taken advantage of the recent SSL vulnerability that affects IIS.

If hubby hasn't plugged how they got in then they'll do it again. N'est-ce pas?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 04 Oct 2004 12:13 - 2623 of 7315

Kernow,

what type of chart are you looking at?

Ian

hilary - 04 Oct 2004 12:13 - 2624 of 7315

Point taken BT.

I'll tell hubby to send "The Boys" round to the domain host then.

:o)

Bullshare - 04 Oct 2004 12:19 - 2625 of 7315

kernow; The CMC chart or their price is not based on the FTSE 100, it based on their own allogarithm, (FTSE cash, FTSE Future, FTSE Fair value)
