whatuwant - 21 Aug 2006 13:28

Read the latest interims.......just make sure that you are sitting down.

I thought you might start waxing lyrical, so nipped it in the bud! :o)

cynic - 17 Jul 2008 12:44 - 2607 of 3050

the only waxing you'll get is a full and deserved SBC!

SOLA having a sudden rush of blood to the head, presumably ahead of figures due on 19th ...... however, i think it would be easy to be suckered, especially with some potentially tough resistances just a little above the current level

zscrooge - 12 Aug 2008 12:32 - 2609 of 3050

Shorts will bottle it soon.

Falcothou - 12 Aug 2008 13:48 - 2610 of 3050

Good results from other solars in states may boost

HARRYCAT - 13 Aug 2008 09:17 - 2611 of 3050

Any thoughts where this is heading now?
Had a look back to the posts for the same time last year, but no real comparison as sub-prime had just reared it's ugly head, weak $ & I think SOLA has changed it's accounting calender.
Can't decide whether to top up or sell out!

Toya - 13 Aug 2008 09:39 - 2612 of 3050

I seem to recall a news snippet on MAM's Monday News Roundup that mentioned a few 'minnows' that are now on the radar to possibly be snapped up, among them SOLA. That, combined with imminent results, could be pushing the sp up.

Falcothou - 13 Aug 2008 11:15 - 2613 of 3050

There has been 20% on loan recently which may close before results on 19th. Lots of good results from solars but margins expected to slim next year when more competition come on line from what I gather from Bloomberg

HARRYCAT - 14 Aug 2008 15:13 - 2614 of 3050

Thin trading in SOLA (292k shares) today but up 8%. Chart is all over the place, so tempted to lock in profit at 460p. Anyone else still trading this stock?

Falcothou - 14 Aug 2008 15:23 - 2615 of 3050

Looks like it could be a break-out or a false one, make or break! Depends on US. Thin vol is meant to mean a weak move isn't it, though sola seems to be about sentiment as much as anything!

HARRYCAT - 14 Aug 2008 16:06 - 2616 of 3050

Only able to trade 357 on-line, otherwise have to place order with a trader on Selftrade!!! They don't seem to want my shares! :o(

zscrooge - 14 Aug 2008 19:43 - 2617 of 3050

Love the smell of shorts burning. ;-))

sivad - 15 Aug 2008 09:11 - 2618 of 3050

This will continue its run until 2nd 1/4 figs at 2.30pm on 19th

HARRYCAT - 15 Aug 2008 10:08 - 2619 of 3050

So you are expecting figures to be bad then? Your post implies 'up until figures released, then down'.

sivad - 15 Aug 2008 15:00 - 2620 of 3050

Figures will be way above market expectations-and with a strong dollar I expect the share to test the 6 pound mark.

Falcothou - 15 Aug 2008 16:19 - 2621 of 3050

Appears to have broken out!

cynic - 15 Aug 2008 17:48 - 2622 of 3050

indeed it does, but i would be very wary of buying before the figures, and if i were a holder, i might be inclined to bank some profits

Falcothou - 18 Aug 2008 12:33 - 2623 of 3050

Some us solar results out at 230 today may set the tone, I gather quite a few trade on higher PE's

HARRYCAT - 18 Aug 2008 12:55 - 2624 of 3050

Watching with interest. Am still holding, as failed to sell late last week. Currently sitting on 15% profit, but can't decide if 500p level will be breached once results are out.

cynic - 18 Aug 2008 13:07 - 2625 of 3050

bank some perhaps, especially as sp has just shot up to 500p mark ..... my guess is that SOLA's figures will not be good enough to sustain its recent recovery
