Thin trading in SOLA (292k shares) today but up 8%. Chart is all over the place, so tempted to lock in profit at 460p. Anyone else still trading this stock?

Looks like it could be a break-out or a false one, make or break! Depends on US. Thin vol is meant to mean a weak move isn't it, though sola seems to be about sentiment as much as anything!

So you are expecting figures to be bad then? Your post implies 'up until figures released, then down'.

Figures will be way above market expectations-and with a strong dollar I expect the share to test the 6 pound mark.

indeed it does, but i would be very wary of buying before the figures, and if i were a holder, i might be inclined to bank some profits

Some us solar results out at 230 today may set the tone, I gather quite a few trade on higher PE's

Watching with interest. Am still holding, as failed to sell late last week. Currently sitting on 15% profit, but can't decide if 500p level will be breached once results are out.

bank some perhaps, especially as sp has just shot up to 500p mark ..... my guess is that SOLA's figures will not be good enough to sustain its recent recovery

Selftrade now provide a trailing stop facility, so maybe this is the time to use it.
Thin trading though is a bit of a worry.

Personally I think the US markets controls Sola UK's SP. UK PI dont show as much interest as the US does, hence thin trading here, which it is why probably difficult to judge which it is heading.
IMO its heading to test the all time high provided the results tomorrow are as impressive as lat time.
So far all majority company in solar sectors have released their results in past week or two have been impressive which should be encouraging for SOLA.

It's very good time to short SOLA at 500p now.

i agree that shorting is probably the better bet, but even then would only do so with guaranteed stop

Am I right in saying that results are at 230 so will they go into an intraday auction, ie will there be a gap up down that will blow through stop losses
