UK smallcap opening - Air Music & Media gains on Investors Chronicle tip

LONDON (AFX) - Buyers came for Air Music & Media, 1.13 ahead at 7.75 pence, after the Investors Chronicle advised readers to 'buy'.

With trading looking strong at the music distributor, and a share price target of 13 pence from broker Seymour Pierce, the shares look oversold, the IC concluded.

Air Music & Media says trading satisfactory, in line with expectations

LONDON (AFX) - Air Music & Media Group PLC, a distributor of home entertainment products, said its trading in the year to date has been satisfactory and in line with expectations.

Chairman Peter Cowgill said at the annual general meeting today: 'The board recognises the significance of the Christmas trading period to the full year results and expects to provide a further trading update at the end of January 2007.'

"over on the junior market Air Music & Media put on 19.5p after reporting underlying profits of 4.7 million. Dealers noted the company had a value of just 13.5 million giving rise to the possiblity of a substantial re-rating."

Must say the sp has taken a swift nose dive in recent, interesting one.

"Air Music & Media Group may have moved from a small profit to a 1.5 million pretax loss in a year, but the business appears to have turned a corner. The company has repaid 5.7 million of borrowings early, eliminating its net debts, which last year stood at 6.4 million. Strong cash generation is coming from the core business. The shares jumped 19p to 78p, a rise of 33 per cent."

Two posts in that thread at present. First one full of info and a great tempter. I nearly bought in after some +ve coverage by respected TMF posters but thought the price had jumped up as a result of that and would probably subside a little short term.

And now it has - by a lot more than I expected (over 10%). Glad I didn't fill my boots at > 80p! I think I was quoted 89p buy on a big spread and chickened out.

The second post in the thread may explain the lack of steam. So staying out for now but keeping a watchful eye.
