THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

That's why Ben is going to go before he acts.

Don't forget the market crashed three times on Greenspan's watch as chairman of the Fed. He is currently a private advisor to companies. He certainly did very little in the build up to each of the three recessions to contain the market.

ahoj - 20 Jun 2013 10:14 - 26276 of 81564

Agreed, Greenspan was a businessman and the market likes these kinds of ignorants, as they can benefit from such guy in power.

That's unfortunate world we live in! It is managed by businessmen rather than REAL humans.

hilary - 20 Jun 2013 10:33 - 26277 of 81564

I think it's pretty unlikely that ALL businessmen have 3 eyes, Spock ears and an elephant's nose, ahoj. You'll probably find that most businessmen are actually human.

ahoj - 20 Jun 2013 10:36 - 26278 of 81564

Most are human but, what about those who have power and money !!! Are they?

goldfinger - 20 Jun 2013 10:42 - 26279 of 81564

Fred1new - 21 Jun 2013 12:01 - 26285 of 81564

Are you referring to Osborne's and Cameron's pedigrees?

Fred1new - 21 Jun 2013 12:04 - 26286 of 81564

I don't think they came from a kennel of economists.

"Government borrowing rose in 2012-13, ONS figures show

Chancellor George Osborne is hoping a reviving UK economy will reduce the budget deficit faster
Government borrowing rose slightly in 2012-13 compared with the previous year, figures from the Office for National Statistics show.

Underlying public sector borrowing was £118.8bn, up from £118.5bn in 2011-12.

The rise comes as a result of the ONS revising down its 2011-12 borrowing figure by £2.4bn to £118.5bn."

I wonder who he will try to blame this time.

Haystack - 21 Jun 2013 14:09 - 26287 of 81564

As the rise is because the previous figures were revised down, this may mean that there has not been a rise when this year's figures are revised.

I think the rich will transfer their money to safer countries. So house prices in the US and UK will rise further. Otherwise no change, see this:
