THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

we must cut the pay of civil servants and their pensions .
we must cut all benefits to people of working age
we must restore working is better than being idle
we must cut immigration and stop immigrants using the nhs for free
we must stop all tax avoidance and take action against them
we must restore rates to restore people saving .

tax payers are subsidizing companies so they can pay low wages and the tax payers foot the bill for cheap labour.
via tax credits it is wrong and the companies should pay the living wage
not tax the public to subsidize the companies profits ,

ahoj - 27 Jun 2013 15:17 - 26474 of 81564

Yep, the companies are getting cheap labour and profiting on daily basis.

goldfinger - 27 Jun 2013 16:15 - 26475 of 81564

Hays choke on this....... no more porkies please.

Taken after the Spending Review.

Before the Spending Review Torries had cut Labours lead to just 6 %.......NOT ANYMORE..............

electionista‏@electionista

UK - YouGov/Sun poll: CON 31%, LAB 42%, LDEM 11%, UKIP 10%

Labour lead now 11%. Looks like UKIP voters migrating to labour. Very worrying for Tory Party.

One other worrying thing is UKIP % FALLING AWAY.

TANKER any comments please. Is this Nigels hidden dosh?????

goldfinger - 27 Jun 2013 16:22 - 26476 of 81564

Question....... if we have all these extra people working that both the fat boys mentioned yesterday , how is it that GDP/output has only risen by 0.3%.

All twiddling thumbs?????????????

Of course not the figures mentioned are dammed lies.

We have these people in Zombie companys, plus the non contract workers who get a couple of hours per week if they are lucky plus the ever increasing number of part time workers. All counted as 1 unit same as a full time workers under this governments agency.

Its one big CON from the POSH CON BOYS.

TANKER - 27 Jun 2013 17:01 - 26477 of 81564

gf my family and all my many friends will vote ukip
and ever one I meet say they are and not one has been asked their views .
polls are worthless till the election nears

TANKER - 27 Jun 2013 17:21 - 26478 of 81564

the uk population has gone up 400.000 in the last 12 months
and the Cameron says they have cut immigration by 33%
liars . that's all the con party do now is tell lie after lie
T MAY what a bloody joke she is

Haystack - 27 Jun 2013 17:55 - 26479 of 81564

Of course UKIP is falling away. That was to be expected. The Conservative figures are fine. Don't forget that the YouGov poll was an online one again and is a target for the activists to distort the figures. Normal polling methods are more reliable.

The stats you mention come from the ONS and are not subject to government influence.

Fred1new - 27 Jun 2013 17:59 - 26480 of 81564

GF,

Agreed once more!

The employment are false.

What surprises me is the apathy of the general public.

They may be keeping their powder dry, but also I don't think the cutbacks have really kicked in yet.

But I suppose Hays will be alright as there must be a food bank close to him.

Feel sorry for the Royal Family, perhaps the state could help out by relieving them of a number of unrequired bedrooms and other properties.

Open them up to the increasing homeless.

Haystack - 27 Jun 2013 18:00 - 26481 of 81564

The figures on population come from the Daily Mail and even they mention that it isn't caused by immigration. It is caused by the high birth rate among people already here.

Fred1new - 27 Jun 2013 18:01 - 26482 of 81564

Hays,

I knew somebody should have cut your .. off.

Fred
The royal palaces do not belong to the royal family. In fact they can only occupy a very small area of those buildings. The state owns them all and is responsible for their upkeep.

Fred1new - 27 Jun 2013 18:10 - 26486 of 81564

Does that mean I can move in when I want to then?

Does it apply to all properties?

Why aren't capitalist principles applied to those building and upkeep paid out of direct income?

Austerity reigns, we need more savings and cut backs.

Open all the "state" buildings to the "public" and charge for entrance.

If they are profitable, good. If not flog them off.

---------------

Haystack - 27 Jun 2013 18:14 - 26487 of 81564

Do you imagine that you can move into all of the buildings that the state owns. The reasons for not having access are many and various and EVEN you should be able to guess at some of them.

goldfinger - 27 Jun 2013 18:43 - 26488 of 81564

Well Im a Royalist but I think its wrong in this age of austerity that the queen gets a 5% annual increase when all middle class and below are getting nothing or miserly increases.

I heard on the BBC news that this increase is needed for repairs to the Queens estate.

BUT Hays says this.......

Haystack - 27 Jun 2013 18:02 - 26487 of 26489

Fred
The royal palaces do not belong to the royal family.......ends

So if thats the case why does the Queen need a 5% increase?, and indeed why is she getting one.

If this is a seperate budget why have the press/media including Tory press not pointed this out????.

In fact I read on a tory rag online the 5% increase was being given because the Queens business empire had made a 5% profit increase year on year.

JUST WHAT IS THE TRUTH??????????????????????????

Surely the Royal Family have a few bob tucked away that they can spend on these repairs.

MaxK - 27 Jun 2013 18:51 - 26489 of 81564

"One hour contracts"

That's the latest wheeze to massage the number of "people in work" figs.

Invented by Nu Labour.

Haystack - 27 Jun 2013 18:52 - 26490 of 81564

Not the Queen's business empire, but the crown estates which includes parts of the coastline and other land and property. The profit goes to the government, but there is an allowance of 15% of the profit that goes to the royal purse. As the crown estate has made more money this last year, there is a corresponding increase in the money paid to the queen. The arrangement was in return for the sovereign giving their holdings of land etc to the state. As has been made clear the increase is to be spent on building work at Buckingham Palace and Windsor.
