well if yesterdays pattern is followed - unlikely i know - it was just after 12.00 we got a big leg up

dclinton - 28 Jan 2004 11:41 - 266 of 11056

Well, it's still finding support on the recent trend lines and fib retracement levels. The MACD and stochastic on bothe the 5 and 15 minute charts are pretty bearish but there seems to be a strong bullish push which is having to fight the indicators. I reckon up.

Or it could go down. Or it could go trendless for a while :-)

dclinton - 28 Jan 2004 11:42 - 267 of 11056

Yes, the US open at noon will either knock it back or give it a big push. The latter, I hope.

Beeblebrox - 28 Jan 2004 11:43 - 268 of 11056

dc; you cant talk like that to spaceman - he won't understand

dclinton - 28 Jan 2004 11:44 - 269 of 11056

I'm practicing to become a guru - he's not supposed to understand :-)

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2004 11:58 - 270 of 11056

hey I dont understand, it the concorde method that does all the work ;-)

well i took a bit of a gamble and I am long from 8348, looking a bit iffy at the mo.

by the way is long the right term for fx?

dclinton - 28 Jan 2004 12:03 - 271 of 11056

Yep, long is the right term. A bit of a risky time to open a trade, just before the US market opens, but the support levels seem to be holding and a lot will depend on what the US thinks of the political news.

dclinton - 28 Jan 2004 12:04 - 272 of 11056

Hutton due to deliver his report at 12.30 - may cause some distrubance in the price.

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2004 12:06 - 273 of 11056

dclinton, yes I thought that but I cant work out which way !!!

Beeblebrox - 28 Jan 2004 12:08 - 274 of 11056

yes, we talk in , so long is long , short $
and dont forget the stop !

the 10.00 theory still intact, but not spectacular
10.00 183.07
12.00 183.48
have moved my stop to 183.17 - set yesterdays too tight

dclinton - 28 Jan 2004 12:08 - 275 of 11056

What does the concorde method say? Is it going supersonic or into retirement?

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2004 12:10 - 276 of 11056

BB thanks for that, I have a mental check at 8320 and stop at 8310.

Its not sure whre to go at the moment though.

dclinton - 28 Jan 2004 12:16 - 277 of 11056

Looks like everyone is waiting for the Hutton report.

Now we get to speculate as to whether the market has alreay factored in the Sun's version and will fall if the real report is not as sensational (which it almost certainly won't be) or if the market has discounted the Sun as too sensational.

Beeblebrox - 28 Jan 2004 12:21 - 278 of 11056

think it has dc - blair wont be squeaky clean, but don't see a resignation
don't forget the fed meets tonight, no change expected in 1%

hilary - 28 Jan 2004 12:22 - 279 of 11056

Dip on the RSI. Tighten long stops to 1.8336.

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2004 12:31 - 280 of 11056

closed -11

Beeblebrox - 28 Jan 2004 12:39 - 281 of 11056

just touched 183.17, and of course cmc don't like to miss any tricks !
so out +10

Sue 42 - 28 Jan 2004 12:41 - 282 of 11056

Is distrubance a technical term?

Sitting watching & not trading - nearly traded a few times - too chicken!

Busy on DGE - scalping.

Beeblebrox - 28 Jan 2004 12:42 - 283 of 11056

well, well, what a surprise 38-42
don't know which i hate most, stops, or cmc

hilary - 28 Jan 2004 12:44 - 284 of 11056

EUR/USD cross looking a bit sickly now. Could easily pull the Cable down, imo.
