Renesola - want to see huge growth ? Look no further !! (SOLA)

whatuwant - 21 Aug 2006 13:28

Read the latest interims.......just make sure that you are sitting down.

HARRYCAT - 21 Aug 2008 16:23 - 2654 of 3050

I have got to admit that with this stock in particular I tend to trade the chart & forget about most other influences. I do watch what SOL is doing on the U.S. exchange as a guide, but as the latest figures are unaudited chinese accounting, best to watch the trend, imo.

Falcothou - 21 Aug 2008 16:48 - 2655 of 3050

I have to admit dual listed stocks do freak me out a bit because they can move 5-10% overnight and gap accordingly, life is stressful enough with just uk trading hours! B.P. rio for example.

ptholden - 21 Aug 2008 21:24 - 2656 of 3050

Looks like SOLA is trying to form another 'W' (the previous W was completed over a much longer time-frame and actually exceeded the chart target by some distance). In this instance an initial target of 560p might be on the cards.

HARRYCAT - 29 Aug 2008 13:41 - 2657 of 3050

It's got a bit bogged down around the 500p level.
Don't currently hold, but looking forward to some kind of movement as this is normally a good trading stock.

ptholden - 29 Aug 2008 13:55 - 2658 of 3050

Well Harry at the moment the SP has just made a higher high on recent performance (assuming this level is held). Not only that, it's through a pretty hefty resistance level of 500p (previous comment applies). I still think 560p may be on the cards.

HARRYCAT - 29 Aug 2008 13:59 - 2659 of 3050

Intraday it seems to push past the 500p level, but settles back at the close.
Wouldn't be comfortable long or short at the moment, especially on such thin volume.

HARRYCAT - 29 Aug 2008 16:05 - 2660 of 3050

Looks like a good call, pth. 520p & still climbing today.

cynic - 29 Aug 2008 16:07 - 2661 of 3050

given that london is about to close, a position (if you must) on ADRs would seem more sensible

HARRYCAT - 03 Sep 2008 08:26 - 2662 of 3050

Back down to 350/360p now?

ptholden - 03 Sep 2008 09:00 - 2663 of 3050

Wouldn't be surprised Harry, looked for a while as if my target was on the cards but giving up 500p support is not good. At least a fall will cheer up Hyleo who was supremely confident of a big sell off, mind you that was two weeks ago :)

cynic - 03 Sep 2008 09:24 - 2664 of 3050

steer clear is my advice, as NY is rather dictating London ..... imo, Dow will recover quite significantly today(?) as peeps slowly wake up the fact that falling oil prices are really good news both for inflation and the economies in general

dealerdear - 03 Sep 2008 16:16 - 2665 of 3050

Down 10% so far and collapsing

cynic - 03 Sep 2008 16:30 - 2666 of 3050

if you look at the ADRs, that will tell you why

HARRYCAT - 03 Sep 2008 16:49 - 2667 of 3050

Good for the shorters. Hlyeo will be chuffed.
And good for us guys waiting to get back in for the upward cycle. 340p ?
What's an ADR, Guv?

cynic - 03 Sep 2008 17:01 - 2668 of 3050

ADRs are what are quoted in NY ... ticker there is SOL

hlyeo98 - 03 Sep 2008 18:11 - 2669 of 3050

Finally, the graph shows my way.

ptholden - 03 Sep 2008 19:30 - 2670 of 3050

It's called a chart Doh!

And I guess if you wait long enough you might eventually be proven correct. Pity it went up 12-15% first though!

hlyeo98 - 03 Sep 2008 20:19 - 2671 of 3050

I called short at 500p (post 2628). I don't know how that would account for 12-15%. Your maths is certainly Labour's standard.

cynic - 03 Sep 2008 20:47 - 2672 of 3050

meanwhile, ADRs are -86, which i think is about $0.40 better than at london close, so assuming that holds, SOLA will inevitably open higher in morning

ptholden - 04 Sep 2008 06:07 - 2673 of 3050

hlyeo98 - 19 Aug 2008 11:32 - 2633 of 2672
Shorters are going to be right, I'm very confident about this...now 461p

Was the post I was referring to - from there up to 530p (ish) intraday, actually worse than 12-15% :)
