Green Shoots?

Gausie - 26 Nov 2008 13:36

A fair few stocks are starting to edge up again - maybe the start of a recovery or maybe they'll be squashed flat when the dead cat bounces on them.

Post any charts here.

Qualifiers are -

recent uptrend (at least one significant higher high and one significant higher low) current price above a rising 50 day MA.

30th October since the last post! Our green shoots have got a bit lost under the snow.

Maybe a bit OT, or maybe a bit relevant. Anyway it's a quiet weekend for messages other than the gurus trying to reactive another guru's loudspeakers on the PC thread.

It is a long time since anyone tried to sell us anything by phone - other than those tiresome recordings that we have won a holiday in the Carribean. But two calls in two days.

At around 5.00 pm on Friday we had a call from the owner of a hotel in Switzerland where we stayed in March 2008. We'd had a great time but had not been back since. He was phoning to see how we were and to say that he hoped he might see us again this year.

Yes, we get quite a few emails from hotels we have stayed at over the last few years - but a phone call? Never before and it certainly tempts us to go back.

And on Saturday my wife got a call from Selfidges where she occasionally buys a particular brand of skin product. The call was to tell her that some new products were coming in shortly and to offer her a free one hour makeover. Gosh. I cannot remember how long it was since I had a call from a shop to tell me they were getting some stock of something I buy albeit infrequently.

Is 2010 heralding an age of enterprise and salesmanship that went out of fashion in the years before our credit crunched?

How nice if it was.
