THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Regarding the proposed credit/debit card charges, that is only one half of the full story to be fair.

The other half of the story is that banks would no longer be able to charge the merchants for processing the transactions. The idea is to provide greater transparency on fees.

The hope is that, if merchants are not being charged, they will lower their prices and the consumer will benefit in other ways. The issue remains, however, as to whether retailers do actually lower their prices or whether they just pocket the saving.

Edward Snowden is he a :-

Whistle blower?

An American traitor?

International hero?

=============

Is America beginning to look foolish in their approach, or just showing themselves up as an international bully, which is in a gradual decline?

"Astonishing claim from the millionaire welfare minister Lord Freud"

He is a prize example of how out of touch the leadership of the present con party is.

Its unbelievable isnt it Fred.

I wouldnt mind but most people getting this food are actually in work. Low paid work and no increases in salary for a few years while the cost of living rise and rises and working benefits are cut and cut.

No doubt he will think of them like the rest of the Tory boys as... scroungers.

Its time Milliband got nasty instead of pandering to the politicaly correct.

Stan - 03 Jul 2013 10:14 - 26657 of 81564

Scroungers?.. Can I be of assistance in any way? http://lordashcroft.com/

MaxK - 03 Jul 2013 11:28 - 26658 of 81564

And big dave really expects to get reelected with goons like this spouting off?

I thought that Lord Freud had it about right. There is evidence that people are visiting food banks because it is free food. Maybe some visit several to do their week's shopping. It does give them more cash to spend on fags, booze and the betting shop.

goldfinger - 03 Jul 2013 12:14 - 26660 of 81564

You are an ignorant idiot Hays.

Have you any idea what verification you have to provide before you can get anything????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????.

goldfinger - 03 Jul 2013 12:18 - 26661 of 81564

Does Cameron ever answer a question direct at PMqs????

I really am sick of him avoiding questions in fact if he isnt removed quickly I will never vote for the conservative party again.

Its nothing but lies lies lies that comes from him and its time the speaker intervened and stopped him blaming labour for all the problems his own chancelor has created in the last 3 years.

hilary - 03 Jul 2013 12:18 - 26662 of 81564

Verification? I would imagine that the scroungers need a passport for proof of age before they're allowed to buy fags or booze or place a bet.

Haystack - 03 Jul 2013 12:26 - 26663 of 81564

gf
I shall investigate this further. There are a few food banks near me.

Stan - 03 Jul 2013 12:28 - 26664 of 81564

goldfinger - 03 Jul 2013 12:42 - 26666 of 81564

You dont need to Hays, I in fact direct people to a food bank via my online voluntary position.

Fact 1.......... 1 voucher = 3days food.

Fact 2........3 vouchers can only be issued consecutively. After that people directed to Local Authority.

Fact 3....... these vouchers can only be issued by doctors, charitys, school teachers.

Fact 4...... over 18s only.

Fact 5.......... no alcohol is supplied by food banks.

Fact 6........ Charitys ask for proof of benefits and all vouchers are entered on central data base.

So ignorant Hays once again you are talking pure shite.
