Yea, Yea, it's on heck of a boat; grounded at the moment and housing two of everything ( four in the case of PC's running Win) and beasts of the field, fowls of the air and so on. The ship was order by voices - so Execs are unsure when Lift-off will be - OR if the thing will float. However to help in this it's been pitched outside and inside in thick treacle which is beling consumed by one of two bears - now if you know how to move a happy bear, without making him grumpy...

The execs have ordered themselves splendid coats of the very finest cloth and in a whole variety of colours, with gold piping/braid and large brass gilt buttons.

There is little hope of this craft floating and ever landing in the Land of plenty ( for shareholders, almost forgot them!), but no-one cares at the Good Ship.

PS This is a wasting company, with little credability for sharehoders - whatever the price.
Grr! Just think what you could ahve invested in if the company hadn't been so bullish - and all the while the price was too high. Ha, Ha.

as regards to DA BOOT, it's only the bailing out that keeps it going

Do my eyes decieve me?

Is this a positive interim statement??

kimoldfield - 29 Aug 2008 07:24 - 26666 of 27111

Interim Results for the six months ended 30th June 2008

Highlights

Sales up 92% to 7.4m (2007: 3.9m)
Loss from operations reduced to 1.6m (2007: 3.7m)
Strong progress achieved in developing sales leads in BioPlastics division
Biotec joint venture experienced volume growth of 87%
Closing Group cash position at 30th June 2008 6.2m

Oh, and they've sold a FROGMAT machine so yes, it's positive!

greekman - 29 Aug 2008 07:43 - 26667 of 27111

Also feel it is a steady as she goes positive statement. As already said sales up, loss down, cash flow OK, etc with the prospects of the next 6 months even better.
Lets just hope the wrangling over a patent issue does not carry on too long and the ruling is in Stanelco's favour.
Did not think I would be praising SEO but credit where credit is due. Things are definitely looking up.

PATISEAR - 29 Aug 2008 07:44 - 26668 of 27111

The most positive RNS from Stanelco.
Not one negative, is it real, are we being duped?

greekman - 29 Aug 2008 07:57 - 26669 of 27111

I think we should look at this company on todays value. If we continue to compare todays Stanelco with that of 2 to 3 years ago re forward looking prospects and all that well talked about spin (something I admit to doing for a long time) the results look a 100% failure, but looking at this as you would a company for the first time, it does IMHO look like a company on the way up with a market cap of very good value.
Obviously still loosing money so the value is purely on potential.
But that potential without the hype looks good.

driver - 29 Aug 2008 08:59 - 26670 of 27111

greekman
I agree, if you where looking at SEO for the first time a small sp and M/Cap there is a lot of potential for the future and not long before it breaks into profit. May be we should put the past failure behind and start being more positive about seo you wouldnt have to average down much with the current sp, could even get some or all of the money lost by long suffering investors.

Sharesure - 29 Aug 2008 09:04 - 26671 of 27111

This looks like it has finally got itself on the right track.

stockdog - 29 Aug 2008 09:09 - 26672 of 27111

Talk about jam tomorrow - they appear to be yet again very pleased with their intention to select fruit bushes!

"Strong progress achieved in developing sales leads in BioPlastics division " - God forbid any actual sales - just leads still!

Same old same old, including the longest running daily saga of patent folk - dum dee dum dee dum dee dum . . .

greekman - 29 Aug 2008 09:58 - 26673 of 27111

Stockdog,
Sales during the first half of 2008 gained momentum and, by period end, had almost doubled reaching 92% of the sales level for the full year of 2007. Group revenues increased from 3.9m to 7.4m in the period ended 30 June 2008 (an increase of 92%) compared with the six months ended 30 June 2007.
The BioPlastics team undertook 27 sets of customer trials (each containing between one and four individual trials) of which 21 have led to production orders of Bioplast material.
I appreciate we have been nothing short of conned by management in the past but the result projections this time look as if they are based solely on the figures from the 6 months to end of June.
I just don't get where your comment, "God forbid any actual sales - just leads still" is coming from. As it is clearly stated from the leads/trials 21 have led to production orders.

PATISEAR - 29 Aug 2008 10:11 - 26674 of 27111

stock

"The increase was achieved by driving sales of biodegradable resin through Stanelco directly (a fourfold increase) and further growth at the Group's Biotec subsidiary, where volumes in the first half of 2008 have doubled to exceed the total for the full year 2007. "

hangon - 29 Aug 2008 11:32 - 26675 of 27111

Greekman - Oh not another Patent problem - did I miss this? - Good! . (?).
/
/

I've given up on this Stock - promises, promises! Then New-Man at helm and - more promises...er, until we learnt the stuff was too expensive for supermarket trays.

Sp is rubbish and all hopes dashed etc.

Now, I appear to be reading(posts here?) some +ve signs - or do I need to go back and read (all?) the last month's posts. It's all rather bitty, er, IMHO.

. . . . . . . .. . . .. .. . . Could someone give me a clue?

I'm suspicious - the sp appears to tell the same story, but that could be the rest of the Market still thinks as do I... (i.e. ignore all Exec. comments).

jimward9 - 29 Aug 2008 13:48 - 26676 of 27111

at last they tell us who,

13. CONTINGENT LIABILITIES
Novamont S.p.A ("Novamont") has brought proceedings against Biotec Biologische
Naturverpackungen GmbH & Co KG, Germany ("Biotec") and
SPhere SA, France, and certain Group companies of SPhere claiming infringement of the French
and Italian designations of Novamont's European
Patent Numbers EP 0 327 505, EP 0 947 559 and EP 0 937 120 (the "Novamont Patents").

Biotec is defending these claims on the basis that the claims in the Novamont Patents
relied on by Novamont are not infringed by Biotec
and/or are invalid. Stanelco and Biotec continue to take professional and technical advice
with regard to this litigation and are confident
of a successful outcome.

PATISEAR - 29 Aug 2008 13:58 - 26677 of 27111

Mines said that while the material first started being used to make plastic bags, the market for bioplastics has now broadened. He added that the company is now starting to get enquiries and orders from massive brand owners.

Monosol deal already contributing profit.{Deal was signed in June}?

tweenie - 29 Aug 2008 17:44 - 26679 of 27111

The results suggest SEO is operating at the same loss as last year. (3.something minus 2 million exceptionals equals about 1.6)
I can't get excited about nothing.
Filed away for another six months.
See you in the new year................ unless
