The seal on our Greenseal tray has turned green so we may have to through it in the bin, er, we mean compost it; we think.

Alan,
Can you please get back to being serious.
I have a cunning plan.
I have suggested to Gordon Brown via e-mail that they approach Stanelco to produce biodegradable bank notes. The idea being that so many can be printed and issued making us all feel so rich we go out and spend like never before. After 6 weeks all these bank notes just disappear into thin air (where the government gets them from in the first place). This would mean that fiscal stimulus has worked as we all have items paid for but all proceeds from sales that have been placed with the financial institutions has disappeared (again) leaving no surplus money in circulation therefor leaving no danger of a return to boom and bust or inflation.
They could bundle the remains up and sell them on as financial investments.
Obviously all the bank would be responsible for the monetary loss and have to be bailed out by the government with loan notes and the like. This would mean yet another round of fiscal stimulus funded by even more Stanelco notes, which would be issued and, 'well you get the drift'.
A bit like a Ponzi scheme, which Madoff proved you could get away with for years.
Can't see any flaws in my plan but there must be a few.
Perhaps GB and AD will see the benefits of my suggestion and implement it immediately.
If implemented we could all spend our cash bonus on more Stanelco shares which would obviously easily reach that magic figure of 35.
And no I did not discuss the idea with Trev, as he would only take the credit.
I await my Knighthood.

Results.
Looks like they are on the way up. Sales up in all areas. Cash flow OK.
Growth in total revenues - increased by 6.7m (84%)
Growth in bioplastic revenues from direct sales by Stanelco plc - increased by 1.4m (385%)
Growth in total gross margin - increased by 1.0m (52%)
Reduction in loss from operations before exceptional items - reduced by 0.3m (10%)
The looking forward (prospects) that should always be taken as just that, look excellent.
Number of sets of customer trials in BioPlastics 48
Percentage of trials leading to production orders 60% (very good figures). Makes a massive change from the old days when most if not all trials came to nothing.
New product launches in RF 5
So not in profit yet but if this progress continues at this pace profit is not far away. Looking at the rate of trials success leading to orders, momentum looks to be gathering pace at a great rate.
Whilst excepting that the company started it's climb back from very low depths, there are not many companies out there that can show such growth figures to the previous year, especially in this financial climate.
Still a long way to go.
Never thought I would say this, but well done SEO.

Hi Alan,
Yes true. I feel that SEO have for some time been a quick dash in and out for most, hoping for a quick profit. The results will be very disappointing for many, re not showing the figures (profit) most were expecting. After all the disappointments over the last few years I am very positive for once.
I wonder how many shares have been shorted over the last week!

OK lads and lasses, you'll be happy to know that I've just sold 40% of my holding at ~80% loss.
The way is now clear for all to top up as the SP will now rise dramatically.

Greater love hath no man...............
Greek,
I am quite pleased with the results.
Everything going in the right way and a mature non-sensationalist reflection.
Very unlike the SEO of old, and promising for the interims.

Reuters) - Stanelco, British maker of biodegradable packaging technology, posted a narrower loss for 2008 helped by a good performance at its Biotec unit and higher sales of bioplastics made directly by the company.
The company said it planned to broaden its product portfolio and widen areas of business.
For the year ended December 31, the company posted a pretax loss of 0.5 million pounds ($0.7 million), compared with 5.0 million pounds a year ago.
Revenue surged 84 percent to 14.8 million pounds.
The company said the Biotec unit, a joint venture with SPhere SA, that makes biodegradable products from its base in Germany, added 5 million pounds to its revenue for the year.
Sales of bioplastics increased by 1.4 million pounds, up 385 percent from the previous year, Stanelco said.
"Whilst pushing forward with organic growth, the board continues to consider acquisition opportunities which would allow it to take significant steps forward in scale," Chairman John Standen said in a statement.
Stanelco shares closed at 0.59 pence on Wednesday.

The results talk about blue chip companies being involved in the trials.
If it were the old SEO, this would have been trumpeted, each one named and an SP of about forty quid.
Wish these results would name just one, so we got a different SP reaction. If only for garybles sake.

BBC news had an item this am about bio-degradable chewing gum. Anyone else remember SEO spouting several years ago about bio gum. I remember that they eventually put something out about their not going forward re this but can't remember what. Did they sell the idea on or just let it fade.
