Time to say goodbye. (GONE)

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 02 Nov 2006 10:19

After just over four years (1481 days, not that I've been counting), I leave MoneyAM's offices for the last time tomorrow night.

A lot's been accomplished by MoneyAM since I joined in October 2002. We've come from nowhere to being a thriving investment website with many thousands of users and I'm very proud to have been a part of that.

As for what I'll be doing, I'm moving away from systems administration and will be (via a small change in career direction) responsible for ensuring the smooth runnings of some automated trading applications for an American company.

I'd like to say thank you to everyone for being patient with me while I was fixing any network and system problems that we had, it was very much appreciated, and good luck with your trading in the future!

I'll still visit these boards occasionally, and if anyone wants to get in touch, please do so via my non-staff profile page

Is it true you got the job there so you could sell some dodgy data cards you acquired yesterday??? ;-)
Best wishes.
Alan

Very best wishes to you and thanks for your help over the years,

seawallwalker,

No, I didn't get the sack, though I'm sure if Bully knew what I really got up to each day he would have done years ago ;)

little woman,

Unfortunately not. Something about the '(MoneyAM)' being misleading?!. I'll be using a 'Jonathan' login (assuming they let me have an account...)

MM,

*blush*

hewittalan6,

Now that you come to mention it... ;)

JT, all the best, hope you make your fortune :-) Thanks for making sure the place runs as well as it does. Downhill from here or are the others competent? ;-)

Seymour,

We have been making him look good for years now, we just let him take the glory :)

Sputnik - 02 Nov 2006 13:14 - 32 of 52

Best wishes for the future.

How about starting a thread on program trading, and educating everyone, it's not something we get to know about.

Gausie - 02 Nov 2006 14:09 - 33 of 52

Good luck J.

Seymour Clearly,

I've been writing virtual trees of documentation and I leave the systems in several good pairs of hands.

Good luck for the future!

Jon, I'm all for people changing their career every few years but I would just like to place on record that I have appreciated the extra effort you went to over the years to help me out on a couple of occasions. I'm sure you got no extra pay or peer recognition - but your kindness and generosity of spirit was always truly appreciated by this computer-illiterate poster!

I hope you have fun and success in your new venture.

StarFrog - 02 Nov 2006 15:42 - 41 of 52

Best wishes and good luck with the new job. Big Ms and root beer for lunch from now on ;-)

seawallwalker - 02 Nov 2006 15:57 - 42 of 52

Well, I am glad you aren't being escorted from the building, mind you after that part admission you may be yet!

Good luck in your new job, they don't know how lucky they are.

We do.

Know how lucky we are, I mean were, oh forget it!

sputnick,
Unfortunately I've signed lots of confidentiality agreements so I'm not allowed to disclose anything like that, though the idea is great!

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 02 Nov 2006 22:15 - 45 of 52

Thank you all for your wishes and stuff :)

It's going to be very strange not being an active part of this community any more :(

Ah give over, TJ ... responsible for ensuring the smooth runnings of some automated trading applications?
That's a great euphemism for opening your own tattoo parlour :o)

Heyyy good luck.
