Suggestions for a description of the markets lack of movement
outside a small range today to(hopefully) bring a tiny smile
to you guys/gals:
Treading water in a puddle
Peddling a broken exercise bike
'Rally' driving on the back of an AA relay truck
I will spare you any more!!!
Have a good day folks..

Now that would be a surprise!
Pleased the positive sentiment has held on BAY - so far today anyway -
elsewhere its a 'dogs day' for many of the banks!

FTSE seems to be trying to bottom out at what was last
weeks resistance level before we got the Friday bounce.
Check the 5day tab on the ftse chart at top of thread.
Taken a small position in MKS. It's just above short term 280p support
and we may get a little bounce. Not too bothered if it drops, I'll
treat this one as a position rather than a day trade and hedge if
required by shorting the FTSE if we start to get the drop suggested
by Croc.

Just scalped the dow with a short and modest gain of 200.
Not much legroom to swing a cat -need volatility.
good luck everybody

Little woman:
Everytime we hear all these things -its sods law that it goes pear shape.
Even with all the good news etc last week it nose dived on friday. Many times its the market "pimps" who blast out all these things and gather a herd for slaughter.
Most probably i am all wrong but time will tell.

Ref the DOW hitting 10000, this is not impossible.
Same as Croc, I think we are overdue a correction, but I think
that it would be a little odd, when having come this near, that the
DOW and the FTSE didn't at least make an attempt on 10000/4450
respectively.
It may be just the frothy blow-off that we need to precipitate
a big fall when everyone comes to the conclusion that this
leg has ended when they try and fail to take the resistances out.
Assuming they do fail of course. ;-)

Melnibone -Quite correct in your logic. I reckon it will trace to around say 9700-9710 then go with gusto for 10000-11500 -in near future than before xmas -if it reaches that far in time spiral down. -But then what do i know -not much
