Easynet (ESY)

proptrade - 22 Jan 2004 11:27

i was wondering if anyone out there had any strong views? this company appears to be delivering and has just turned EBITA positive after a great trading statement last week. seems like upside to +200p once results are out.

any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

now where is that crystal ball!

may stay here until the next announcement. at worst may drift slightly.

Found this which is of interest from Sloane Robinson Eurpoe Investment Trust. I like their price target. :-)

""December was a strong month for the portfolio as the fully diluted NAV per share rose 6.6%, this compares to the MSCI Europe index up 3.9%. The largest single positive contributor was the portfolios position in the UK alternative telecom company Easynet.
The stock rallied nearly 50% during December. This has been a long standing holding in the portfolio that we have been adding to in recent months following significant weakness earlier in the year. It is our belief that the company offers both a multi-year organic growth opportunity and occupies an extremely attractive strategic position in the UK telecoms market. Our price target is 190p compared to a recent purchase price of 66p and the current price of 107p."

don't go for this talk- seems alot of this around at the moment i.e upside in sp this talk is having no positive reaction in sp movement- which is a concern.
alot of selling today?.

gavdfc - 24 Jan 2005 19:25 - 274 of 602

Well I would say that the sp has risen quite significantly over the last few months. Surely it depends on the timescale that you are looking for a return over. The rise in the sp looks good to me, as do the prospects over the coming months. But that's just my opnion.

i hope you are right!!?

proptrade - 25 Jan 2005 10:06 - 276 of 602

thx for the chart. the encouraging thing is that there is a bit of selling around and they are kind of holding up...maybe a support level lower down.

gavdfc - 26 Jan 2005 16:12 - 277 of 602

Maybe a bit of sideways trading for a while? Found this article, not sure if the Easynet they mention is to do with ESY. Had a look on the website but couldn't find anything.

Saudi Telecom launches Easynet service

Saudi Telecom recently launched its Easynet service, which is reported to have simplified the process of connecting to the internet.

Easynet allows KSA users with a telephone landline to connect to the internet, using any ISP. In the past would-be surfers in the Kingdom who wanted to get online had to first purchase an internet card from their preferred ISP, before setting up an account on their PC with the proxy and port addresses, and the relevant connecting number.

The launch has made the process less cumbersome as users can now reconfigure their PC settings and change the connecting number to that of the ISP they wish to use.

big volume going through. any thoughts?

gavdfc - 31 Jan 2005 14:06 - 279 of 602

Not really sure Prop. If the 2 T trades were sells that have been completed then I would have thought that we would have dropped a bit. Maybe they are buys.

gavdfc - 31 Jan 2005 14:10 - 280 of 602

The trade of 674517 at 105p does look like a pretty odd amount though.

proptrade - 31 Jan 2005 14:29 - 281 of 602

i know, that is why i am not so sure about them. gut tells me one is a buy and one is a sell.

ticked up 0.5p so lets wait and see.

gavdfc - 31 Jan 2005 15:50 - 282 of 602

Another largish delayed trade just went through at 104, again for an odd number. Wouldn't have thought they'd have got 104 to sell today.

gavdfc - 31 Jan 2005 16:41 - 283 of 602

220k T trade at 105 just showed up.

gavdfc - 31 Jan 2005 21:28 - 284 of 602

Found this:

-- EasyNet, a leading pan-European broadband networking company selected mPhase's core Intelligent POTS Splitter Solution (iPOTS1) for deployment. iPOTS1 provides the critical access that broadband network operators need to automatically test and maintain network quality.

proptrade - 01 Feb 2005 09:52 - 285 of 602

well spotted. with the "sells" and MM trades, i smell a buyer about. i call these up 5 by the end of the day.

proptrade - 01 Feb 2005 11:27 - 286 of 602

slowly but surely moving ahead. now up 2.5p

proptrade - 01 Feb 2005 15:08 - 287 of 602

vwap buy just went through which explains the MM trade this morning of 100/-..obviously someone taking a punt at lifting 1.6p out of the trade.

gavdfc - 01 Feb 2005 15:13 - 288 of 602

5p up by the close would be a nice rise, but then again, 2.5 is not too shabby either.

proptrade - 01 Feb 2005 15:21 - 289 of 602

agreed. just an early morning observation but i think there is a bit more to squeeze out by the end of the day. just wierd trades going through that kind of signal a large buyer in the background calling these up.

for what its worth if we have another up day tomorrow we should see mid teens by next week. results at the end of the moth, early March.
