I remeber the Arsenal fans being shocked that all the Southampton fans stayed behind at the end of the FA Cup final. Hell it was 1976 the last time we had anything to shout about we weren't going to miss the chance despite the fact we lost.

the bigger the club and the more success they have had the more fickle they get - i have been astounded with the reactions of some arsenal fans sometimes and have often admired the fans of some of the so called smaller clubs - i remember newcastle fans at highbury a few years back when arsenal were winning 4-0 with about 20 mins to go and the only fans you could hear were the geordies with songs like were gonna win 5-4, shall we sing a song for you etc etc - and with 10 mins to go some of the arsenal fans started to leave to beat the traffic - unbelievable

Bit more bad news for you saints fans - expected though:

Southampton's plea for Peter Crouch to be available for their crucial last game of the season has been rejected by the Football Association.
The Saints striker was red-carded for apparently elbowing Gonzalo Sorondo during the 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace.

But his club, desperate for their key forward to be included against Manchester United on Sunday, wanted his ban overturned.

The FA's disciplinary panel threw his appeal out at a hearing on Tuesday.

If Saints defeat United, they could avoid relegation from the Premiership and Crouch, with 12 Premiership goals this season, would have helped their cause.

I don't think anyone can have any complaints about his ban being upheld

Southampton are currently third from bottom and a point behind Norwich, while Crystal Palace and West Brom are the other clubs aiming to avoid the drop.

In addition to missing the game against Manchester United, Crouch will also sit out the first two matches of next season, no matter what division Southampton are in.

Meanwhile midfielder David Prutton has declared himself ready to contribute to the Southampton cause on Sunday, should manager Harry Redknapp need him.

Prutton, who received a 10-match ban after pushing referee Alan Wiley during a match in February, played in a specially-arranged friendly against a youth team selection after a reserve-team match was cancelled.

"It was a good work-out and it was great to be playing again," said Prutton.

"After so long out I was looking forward to the reserve game and was gutted when it was called off but the other match was played at a good tempo, to be fair, and I have to thank the lads who played for turning out.

"Now I feel sharp and I'm ready for Sunday - if the manager feels he needs me."

Not on the football this evening, have been on the evening races instead. Had a good evening with no losses, but still had to get out of two positions whilst in the running which is FAR from ideal.

I wasn't help by IE crashing a few times which is being casued by the autobet refesh tool. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
