THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Aren't we all?

What was your last one?

Mine was getting caught by my wife again.

But, at least it keeps her on her toes.

goldfinger - 11 Jul 2013 19:21 - 27078 of 81564

Come on Hays admit your a novice at cricket.

Cook could end up and probably will be the batsman with the largest number of test centuries and runs in the history of the game.

Peterson and Trott would find a place in any test team as would Prior and the spinner Swann.

They have a problem at number 2 where Young Root is being asked to shoulder the responsibility of Southern Counties not producing enough good young batsmen.

The problem here has been the captains bad decision to put his own team into bat in swinging GIVEME conditions.

Haystack - 11 Jul 2013 19:56 - 27079 of 81564

yawn

goldfinger - 11 Jul 2013 20:26 - 27080 of 81564

You yawn as much as you want Hays. I happen to come from a Yorkshire and England cricket background. So I know a bit about the game.

The late great Johhny Wardle Yorkshire and England spin wizard was my uncle.

He went to Australia to play the Ashes on the ship in them days.

After his playing days he set up an academy in Doncaster at Fishponds.

My aunt Elsie is still alive and going well.

This was his test average.......

JH Wardle (Eng)

1948-1957

28

102

20.39

5

1

20.39 average per batsman.

Lucky if you find anybody these days with anything like that figure.

Chris Carson - 11 Jul 2013 20:49 - 27081 of 81564

Deluded is that the word I'm looking for? As far as he is concerned same height, same age (give or take), same fitness levels (ish), devishly good looking, must be Tom Hanks in his eyes? Problem is he behaves in everybody elses eyes like the character that Tom Hanks plays in the movie 'Forrest Gump'

'Lifes a box of chocolates' ...... wink :O)

Haystack - 11 Jul 2013 20:50 - 27082 of 81564

Of course, I had forgotten that you are an expert on everything

yawn

doodlebug4 - 11 Jul 2013 20:56 - 27083 of 81564

King Arthur reincarnated is at it again and his Aunt Elsie was probably as equally boring and up her own exhaust pipe.

Haystack - 11 Jul 2013 22:08 - 27084 of 81564

Another scandal at Labour's door - the overcharging by G4S for running the tagging system. Contracts signed in 1999 by Blair and co.

goldfinger - 11 Jul 2013 22:26 - 27085 of 81564

Chris once and for all grow up.

You say you are a pensioner???, your acting like a 13 year old.

Im very proud of my cricketing connections. Very proud indeed.

I understand that you are sub standard at stock picking, but surely apart from bowls you must have something to be proud of in your what appears very boring life and background.

Nothing wrong with expressing it. Thats why the Germans and Yanks do a lot better than us, because they are allowed to express themselves and in fact are promted to express themselves.

Why do you think England are crap at pens??????????????.

goldfinger - 11 Jul 2013 22:30 - 27086 of 81564

Hays, why has it taken the torries 3 years to audit these mistakes with G4s.

WE all knew they were useless at the Olympics for a kick off.

Youve been in power now going on for 3years plus.

Plainly just innefficient government.

Haystack - 11 Jul 2013 22:37 - 27087 of 81564

Labour spotted the problems in 2008 and swept it under the carpet. The present government had no reason to audit the past. At least it is the present government has opened it all up. The government is passing it on to the SFO.

goldfinger - 11 Jul 2013 22:51 - 27088 of 81564

No your fudging.

This government is in power and even had them in front of a government commitee.
These fiddles should have been picked up at least last year just after the olympics.

You cant go on blaming everything on Labour when you ve been in charge for 3 years.

Haystack - 11 Jul 2013 23:26 - 27089 of 81564

Repeat after me, "It is all Labour's fault".

Now, don't you feel better? The history of modern politics shows that every time Labour gets in power, the Conservatives have to fix all the problems that they have caused. It is no coincidence that before Blair, Labour were only in power for one term at a time. Blair made it more as he was more of a conman even than previous PMs - even more of a conman than Harold Wilson!

Chris Carson - 11 Jul 2013 23:50 - 27090 of 81564

That's fine gf, newsflash I care not one jot what you think of me. As you say the clue is in the title of the thread. Your full of shit in my opinion, I dare say that doesn't bother you one jot either.

goldfinger - 12 Jul 2013 00:58 - 27091 of 81564

Chris chris, believe in youself more. If youve got it mate I say flaunt it.

I see a glass half full you see the same one half empty.

You really do suffer from the Tory syndrome of follow thy leader.

Im a free lancer and always will be.

goldfinger - 12 Jul 2013 01:02 - 27092 of 81564

Hays, repeat after me, I shall not get blathered every morning, afternoon and night.

I shall not get blathered every morning, afternoon and night.

Go on repeat it, youl feel a lot better.

Also repeat after me, I shall not treat cynic as a pleb, I shall not treat cynic as a pleb.
I shall not treat cynic as my fag, I shall not treat cynic as my fag.

Now thats a lot better isnt it once youve got it off your chest.

cynic - 12 Jul 2013 08:27 - 27093 of 81564

goldfinger - 12 Jul 2013 08:36 - 27094 of 81564
