THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Not so.

Some wonder what indulgence you are satisfying when you post your "information".

Tanker - 99% of the time you write absolute and utter twaddle and this latest diarrhea of yours does not fall in the remaining 1%

Restaurants have always typically doubled the price they pay for wine. It is partly the cost of holding stock, especially the expensive wines. Some restaurants have very large sums tied up in holding wine stock. The profit on the wine helps keep the food prices down. You can get good deals on wine in restaurants, but you need some basic knowledge. A blacklist of rude customers seems a good idea.

hay does the rude customers mean the ones that complain about bad food
and should just eat the bad food and go home

Nissan's Datsun brand is re-born after more than 30 years

It was one of the marques that helped Japanese carmakers establish themselves in Europe and the US.

In the 1970s, the fuel efficient Datsun became the car of choice for the everyday motorist fed up with unreliable gas-guzzlers.

Now, more than 30 years after Nissan decided to kill off the brand, the Datsun has been reborn.

what the fuck have sprinters taking drugs got to do with the diarrhea about restaurants being the major source of food poisoning?

========

separately
if restaurants did generally only mark up wines by 100%, i wouldn't gripe but i think 3x is pretty much the norm and in some establishments 4x, which is a disgrace

I can the restaurants in the 70s. with "bring your own wine" and corkage of 50 p or £1.

A number of French run restaurants introduced food to Brum.

One was delighted when we brought a couple of cases in.

there are still BYOG restaurants around, though not that many
licensing laws over here may also make such an arrangement quite tricky

skinny - 15 Jul 2013 16:34 - 27199 of 81564

Sounds like you've been on it early Fred ~;-)

Fred1new - 15 Jul 2013 16:56 - 27200 of 81564

Do you mean, bring your own girl.

Hell, somebody had to drive home!

cynic - 15 Jul 2013 17:27 - 27201 of 81564
