Jeff. what do you mean, not much room?
Come around to the back 'snug', plenty of room in here and we're watching SA v All Blacks on the cafe 1948 Edison TV and slurp a tube or three.

Socrates - 08 Nov 2003 09:56 - 2732 of 23498

Oh no, not sport! I'm out of here. You'll find me in the sauna.

jeffmack - 08 Nov 2003 20:28 - 2733 of 23498

Socs must be all shrivalled if hes still in that sauna

Socrates - 08 Nov 2003 21:00 - 2734 of 23498

Jeff
You don't think I would be daft enough to go into the sauna when it is switched on, do you? I've got a cosy chair, bottle of fizzy plonk and some good reads. All I'm missing is the company of a good woman!

jeffmack - 08 Nov 2003 21:35 - 2735 of 23498

Or in Prince Charles's case a man servant!

little willie - 09 Nov 2003 09:33 - 2736 of 23498

I heard Camilla's playing in the second row for Ireland next season

zarif - 09 Nov 2003 11:44 - 2737 of 23498

Scoc and All:
I thought I went to the "gents" when I came into the Cafe but With all the Chivas in me I think it was the StockRoom and The Chef nLocked me in. So beware of any Lager looking Teas to start with.!!!
Regarding the Dow - I came out bruised biut not beaten as walked away with 800 notes _ reckoned it will rally at the end - but the b52 got hit by a SAM and went down like astone.
What do you reckon is going to happen in overnight trading tonight and with the Jap market open and their elections on??

Anyway this is cafe - So teas and Full english for all the early birds - on my tab.

Joke for stockbunny and all. Re: the Barrell.

---This guy who is a sailor in the olden days (sail ships) is out at sea for months and is a newbie learning the trade.Months pass and is missing his conjugal rites and cant get it off his mind.So oneday he confides to one of his ship mates as to how come they are all happy and no "missing Nookie" in their emotions. The old mate points to a Stack of barrels and points one solitary one in the corner that has a tiny hole in it. He says if u get the urge just use that and u shall be fine. The younger guy is disgusted -but after a few days decides to give it a go and has the greatest time. After a few weeks he teams up with the old guy and confesses that he has been having a wail of a time and Questions as to the secret of the Barrell?-The old guy replies "DONT WORRY U WILL SOON FIND OUT AS ITS YOUR TURN TO GET IN THE BARREL NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!"

If England play like that against the frogs they will get hammered

stockbunny - 09 Nov 2003 14:03 - 2739 of 23498

Hi All - just popped in quickly to say Hi and hope you all are having
a great weekend. I'm just checking the red wine stock for next week,
well Monday in particular with BAY reporting, hopefully the news
won't send me raiding too many bottles for consolation.

Thanks for the joke Zarif, you have put me off taking another bath
in a barrel of wine for LIFE!!!!! Put some plasters/band aids on those
bruises and go get the DOW next week!

Hey Socs!!! That's my comfy chair and have you
borrowed my copy of Kate Aide's book?
I'll have it back when you're done please.
Where's GD???? The fridge's almost empty again......

8 Ball - 09 Nov 2003 14:03 - 2740 of 23498

Good game Jeff.

Wales just lacked that bit of quality, but regained a bit of pride.
Once that "South African" came on at half time England played much better.

I am sure they will raise their game for France.

Little Woman.

Our club meet on Monday, any good tips?
Looking for a couple of small caps to add to portfolio as we are now in profit.
We increased our holding in Photo Scan (PTO) last month after they won a large contract with London buses, still looking cheap.

I have noticed Gravy's (ETQ) has drifted down in price with no news flow and may well be worth a few quid, as the testing of the germ killing air filtration unit in a NHS hospital should be well under way.
P&O ferries may be a prospective customer following the cruise from hell.

stockbunny - 09 Nov 2003 14:16 - 2741 of 23498

Ok hopping off now - if GD comes in today ask him to get a couple
more bottles of Cab' Sav for me - there's only 4 out there and I'd
feel better with a round half dozen pending BAY tomorrow...

See's ya'all on Monday!!!

Socrates - 09 Nov 2003 14:43 - 2742 of 23498

Oh no, it's all sport again. I'm off to the sauna with my books and plonk, see you all later after the final whistle.

vasey - 10 Nov 2003 14:45 - 2743 of 23498

Just nipped in to check enough bottles of bubbles in the fridge for when Socks comes in. His DYS shares currently up 4.79% today.

Opened a nice bottle of Cab Sauv for Bunny, to allow it to breathe a little and reach room temperature.

stockbunny - 10 Nov 2003 14:57 - 2744 of 23498

Ah much thanks Vasey!!! That tastes great and opened just at the right time!
Nice spot of sliced smoked salmon and cottage cheese on
a crisp bread to go with it too!
((You've never tried it?? You must its a wonderful combination!!))
So how's life for one and all this afternoon???

little woman - 10 Nov 2003 15:32 - 2745 of 23498

I'm bored - did a litte work earlier, and should do more - but not in the mood. May open a bottle of something else to keep the day going (especially as I don't have to venture out today, so no driving!)

stockbunny - 10 Nov 2003 15:53 - 2746 of 23498

I strongly believe a little of what you fancy does you good!
Having said that I shudder to think what responses I might get to
that statement from JeffMack, GD, Socs & co! (LOL)
Anyway Little Woman, if you haven't got to drive anywhere and you
fancy a glass of two of wine GO FOR IT and Enjoy!!!
And if you're not in the mood work gets terribly tedious....
((Nodding head in sympathy))
Life is too short for tedium...........

jeffmack - 10 Nov 2003 15:55 - 2747 of 23498

I didnt think rabbits did anything in moderation

zarif - 10 Nov 2003 16:01 - 2748 of 23498

Time for a cuppa "D" - just closed one short dow with modest gain of 200 as not much leg room to swing a cat at present.

Good luck everybody

Good evening all.

Vasey
I'm now at 48% gain on Dyson, I just wish all my stocks were as good.

Stockbunny
I don't know quite what you are implying? You will get nothing but polite and genteel responses from me. (Apart from the odd bit of inuendo).
