DOW JONES @ LIVECHARTS

Took partial position shorts last night Nov Dow 9785 Dec S&P 1047 - looking to add on any opening pop.

Can't see Dow 10000 - too early for Bush to keep it up and push on till election time Nov 2004. Just feel it would be bad news if it went through and didn't hold - reckon they will keep main push for next year when they may be able to sustain itfor a while! As long as fallback makes a higher low the talking heads can maintain the bullish case; it also creates a more favourable base from which to launch next year's election inspired manipulation.

Just my overview but, as always, trade what is happening not what you think will happen!

Did you see the spike up at around 13.30 gmt it rocketed about 20-30pts in a spit second.
Guys be very careful as they can wipe us out.
What are your trades today (or is it a silly question)!!!!

Do you reckon at some point today will go south to catch us unawares.

Hi Just managed to close some of the shorts of from last night at 9748 and ending in the positive territory. The sharks nearly had me yesterday.
The market was supposed to open higher with all these good figures etc.(lucky for me it didnt!!!)and dow news wires etc all said market to open higher -but what a fall.
I reckon it is going to spike up like it did yesterday.
ftse briefly hit 9400+ today -do you reckon the dow will emulate and hit 9900+
and make us all smile?

Dow bobbing up and down like yo-yo around 12pts. I reckon later on will see some shift (hopefully upwards).

Oh just off the topic - On sunday this financial astrologer on sunday predicted that the market will collapse by 200 odd points Yesterday (14/10/03)afternoon. i hope he saw blue lights and Straight jacket brigade on his doorstep yesterday or did the stars disappear.

I am trying a position trade today - not my normal inclination.
I'm short the Dow with a November future at 9779.
I have a stop of course.

9743 on Dec Dow at 21.34 hrs.
Just closed the last short out in positive territory.
Have left the 2 longs running.

Will be off tomorrow till evening -will leave the stps tight.
