required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

Not playing in the Champions League next season, massive clearout who your gonna sign? Van Persie will be history. United had no choice but to try and keep Rooney, without him what have you got?

ptholden - 01 Apr 2014 21:57 - 2749 of 6918

Martinez and Schweinstwiger suspensions for the 2nd leg may have some bearing on who wins the tie. It's usually the British teams who have players sent off due to foreign divas diving, cheating and influencing referees so nice to see Utd getting the rub of the green for a change.

CC I wouldn't be so sure, I kind of got a sense recently that Utd's season had just got going. They go to Munich still in the tie and just need to score. Man City and Arsenal have proven they're not invincible in their own stadium. 1-1 and penalties for me :)

ptholden - 01 Apr 2014 22:02 - 2750 of 6918

PS, no point arguing with the football muppet, claims to support Utd and spends all his time slagging of their best player. I bet Utd are delighted to have him as one of their supporters. Lol

MONEY thats what weve got and plenty of it.

Do you really honestly think footballers these days put playing in the champions league before £50grand or more extra per game.

Come off it Chris.

Weve both had a laugh tonight but the morals in football are these days all centred around cash and I think you know that.

Chris Carson - 01 Apr 2014 22:38 - 2752 of 6918

Sadly what you have is David Moyes. Bayern have Pep Guardiola nuff said :O)

goldfinger - 01 Apr 2014 22:54 - 2753 of 6918

Do you really think Barklay will be at Goodison come August when UTD have trebled his salary and if UTD dont do it somebody else will.

He'l go to World cup talk to Stevie G and few others of the boys in the squad, find out how much they are getting and he'l be on his way as soon as he hits British soil again wether hes in champions league or not.

Stevie G said he stayed at Liverpool when chelski wanted him because he was loyal to the club....YEAH loyal when hed been offered £75 grand a game more. And remember liverpool werent in the champions league.

Chris Carson - 01 Apr 2014 23:09 - 2754 of 6918

Gf - Everton play Arsenal on Saturday, Ozil cost more than Evertons squad. If by some miracle we win our remaining six matches guaranteed 4th place. Barkley has already said that he has learned more under Martinez than he did under Moyes, who incidentaly put him out on loan. So yes, given the choice I think for the time being he would stay at Everton under Martinez's wing and be guaranteed first team football. He would also have seen first hand what has happened to Jack Rodwell at City. Rumour has it Rodwell may come back on loan next season.

goldfinger - 01 Apr 2014 23:35 - 2755 of 6918

No chance, he'l be on his way his head swayed by the jack the lads of the England squad.

ExecLine - 02 Apr 2014 08:48 - 2756 of 6918

Very refreshing to see ManU playing with lots of guts and determination and also, not just with one, but often with two solid defensive lines.

Rooney is a good player but he does give the ball away far too often with clumsy passes. He then often immediately wastes lots of energy in determined runs to try and get the ball back again.

1-1 was a fair result, IMHO, and 'Good Luck' to them in the next leg. Bayern are really going to miss their Schwein Tiger next time round, who was the only one in this match, who managed to get the ball into the net.

Dil - 03 Apr 2014 01:51 - 2757 of 6918

... and Chelski had the softest draw !!!

The agent of Romelu Lukaku has admitted he has already held talks with Tottenham over a summer move to White Hart Lane.
As first revealed by Telegraph Sport last week, Spurs have placed Chelsea striker Lukaku at the top of their summer hit list.
Lukaku has spent the season on loan at Everton, scoring 13 goals in 26 games, but is set to be part of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's clear-out of his forward players.
Chelsea value 20-year-old Lukaku at £25m, which will make it difficult for Everton to sign the Belgian permanently.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is prepared to fund a move for Lukaku and offer him a significant rise to his current £40,000-a-week wages.

Lukaku's agent Christophe Henrotay told Belgium newspaper Het Nieuwsblad: "I'm looking for a club for Romelu. And yes, I've talked to Daniel Levy once, but that doesn't mean Romelu will definitely join Spurs. That's not a talking point at this moment.
"There aren't 20 teams that can afford to buy Romelu. He won't go from Everton to, let's say, Swansea. There's also a difference between Everton that plays against relegation and an Everton that fights for European football.”

Lukaku is a Chelsea player until Jose says otherwise. End of.

Joe Say - 04 Apr 2014 07:10 - 2760 of 6918

Probably his biggest mistake this season was allowing him out on loan - mind you if he'd stayed he would have had to fight Torres, Eto'o and Ba for a place

Some battle

;)

doodlebug4 - 04 Apr 2014 11:41 - 2761 of 6918

Torres is on £175,000 a week and has two years of his contract left. Chelsea will reputedly have to pay him £10million to get rid of him before his contract ends.

goldfinger - 04 Apr 2014 13:42 - 2762 of 6918

Dont think so much of him personaly.

Far better strikers about and going cheaper.

goldfinger - 04 Apr 2014 13:44 - 2763 of 6918

See Joey Barton putting boot in Rooney yesterday.

Says no way is he a world class player.

How so true.

We must be mad paying him 300 grand a week.

Chris Carson - 04 Apr 2014 13:47 - 2764 of 6918

Joey Barton LOL THUG!!

goldfinger - 04 Apr 2014 14:30 - 2765 of 6918

Used to play for you didnt he?

goldfinger - 04 Apr 2014 14:58 - 2766 of 6918

Anyway didnt you see that report about Burton in the papers, hes a very inteligent bloke really but as a very rare gene medical problem which pumps too much adrenalin into him and hence his actions.

Poor lads only just found out.

Hes got Rooney weighed up perfecly, more or less made out hes just in it for the money. Compared him to Ronaldo and all the extra training he does etc etc etc.

Chris Carson - 04 Apr 2014 15:13 - 2767 of 6918

God forbid Barton ever plays for Everton. Sorry to hear about his illness though.
