<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. LOCAL EXPLORATION SHARES: TIME TO HANG ON

I remember trying to give people courage about Desires shares back when they went on sale in the late 90s.
The advice I gave was not to spend the rent money (mortgage money is applicable today) on these shares but to
use disposable income for them. This advice rings true today when valued Desire, FOGL, Rockhopper and
Desire shares are at a premium.
My best advice to shareholders is to hang on to them, especially now when exploratory drilling could reveal vast
reservoirs of crude.

With daily living costs rising exponentially it is becoming more difficult to skimp on the food money to save for
shares well, OK if you are dieting. I hear the water rate wont be going up this year bur I suggest people
wanting shares in local exploration companies wait until the price drops and then get in, rather than buying
when prices are high and selling when share prices decline.

For those with shares in local exploration companies hold on to them. They are worth every penny you spent.

at the British Geological Society
in Edinburgh. She said the meeting
was a chance to talk about issues
relating to planning or drilling
and the companies work commitments.
She added: It also gives them
the opportunity to ask any questions
as they get closer to drilling.
The news of Desire Petroleums
farm-in has prompted share prices
to rise. Closing at 46.50p on February
25, having risen 25p following
the news, yesterday shares were
continuing the trend, trading at
75.50p.

Your quiet correct very strange,maybe its a women thing, at least the water is not going up not like the Desire share price,still think we will see a new high today.

There is a meeting going on as we speak at the BGS head quarters up in Scotland which will finish about 3pm, all the operators will be attending a bit like the one they had back in Stanley in October time so an important one, Also another important meeting today back in London but cant say anything more on that one.

BHP news came out of the Farm-in shortley after the last meeting and i expect more news to come.

The resumption of drilling I hope Rob I wish I was a fly on the wall.

...."They do not have the resources to drill for oil themselves, but their results have been promising enough to attract, once again, the attention of the larger companies. And with oil prices last week hitting a record $106 a barrel, drilling around the Falklands is now a far more attractive proposition.

Last month Desire Petroleum, one of the smaller operations, announced that it had linked up with a major, so far unidentified, company. It is planning to bring a floating rig to the Falklands to start drilling by the autumn.

This deal follows a similar agreement between Falkland Oil & Gas and BHP Billiton in October, which will enable drilling in a different area.

Dr Phil Richards, from the British Geological Survey, which has been advising

the Falklands' government, sounded a note of caution, however. "There's no way of knowing how much oil is down there until drilling starts," he said. "It may be a total success or a total failure, or it could be somewhere in between."

It was a busy day for Falklands-focused businesses. Desire Petroleum, the energy explorer operating north of the islands, surged another 12p to a record high of 79p amid speculation that it might bring in a new partner after a recent deal with a big producer.

I don't expect the farm in partner to be revealed for some weeks yet, Des has been yrs getting a deal, what if it's an Argentinian?

The Telegraph article is just a weekend summing up, nothing new but may attract some new PIs, can't see it affecting the sp though. I expect some profit taking next week with a retrenchment to about 60p, If the farm in is with a Major such as the likes of Shell we will then see a further improvement. Autumn is optimistic.
