it's very interesting to go back to the graphs in the header.......do look. There are some utterly different perspectives. Particularly SL. (previous failure), CLLN, MTO, BT.A and BTG.

30th October since the last post! Our green shoots have got a bit lost under the snow.
Maybe a bit OT, or maybe a bit relevant. Anyway it's a quiet weekend for messages other than the gurus trying to reactive another guru's loudspeakers on the PC thread.
It is a long time since anyone tried to sell us anything by phone - other than those tiresome recordings that we have won a holiday in the Carribean. But two calls in two days.
At around 5.00 pm on Friday we had a call from the owner of a hotel in Switzerland where we stayed in March 2008. We'd had a great time but had not been back since. He was phoning to see how we were and to say that he hoped he might see us again this year.
Yes, we get quite a few emails from hotels we have stayed at over the last few years - but a phone call? Never before and it certainly tempts us to go back.
And on Saturday my wife got a call from Selfidges where she occasionally buys a particular brand of skin product. The call was to tell her that some new products were coming in shortly and to offer her a free one hour makeover. Gosh. I cannot remember how long it was since I had a call from a shop to tell me they were getting some stock of something I buy albeit infrequently.
Is 2010 heralding an age of enterprise and salesmanship that went out of fashion in the years before our credit crunched?
How nice if it was.

Good to see this thread back in use. Westminster Group WSG worth a look imo, just starting to break out from a low base. Since the last broker forecast in October they have released three very positive RNS statements inluding todays.

I think the recent rise in IPR is because of takeover talk.

According to a number of investment companies (also Shares Mag) we should all be changing our investing strategy now.
Should be moving OUT of early cyclicals: Autos + Parts, Consumer goods, Retail, Leisure goods, Life Insurance, Media, Travel.
Should be moving IN to: Aerospace & defense, Real Estate, Industrial Transport, Software & computer services, Chemicals, Construction services, & Oil equipment services.
